“Great choice for the business traveler”

Hyatt Place Denver Tech Center

Tigard, Oregon

I spent 2 nights at the Hyatt Place DTC earlier this month. Overall I thought it was comfortable, clean, and in a good location.

Check in: I arrived around noon and no one was at the front desk. There is an automated check in machine in the lobby that creates your key. I had no problem getting my key, but thought it a bit strange that no one was at the desk to check me in. (Eventually someone showed up to check in one of my workmates.)

Rooms: clean, comfortable. The rooms are not huge, but they are plenty big for one or two people. A nice sized, HD TV and a refridgerator are in each room. The beds are comfortable. The only complaint I had was the light from the parking area shown directly into my room, and it was impossible to get the room completely dark at night.

Restaurants: A great selection of restaurants are located around this hotel on Belleview. Directly next to the motel is YaYas European Grill, which has a great selection of Italian and Greek food. I ate there twice and highly recommend it. There is also a Morton's Steak House down the street if you wish to splurge.

Location: Easy to get to I-25 for fast access to downtown Denver or east to the airport.

Breakfast bar: good selection of fruit, yogurt, coffee, and breads.

Overall, this is a good choice if you have to be in the Tech Center area. It is not very close to downtown or the tourist attractions such as Coors Field or the museums. I would stay here again if my work brings me back this way.

“Hyatt Place - exactly what they advertise”

Hyatt Place Denver Tech Center

Aug 7, 2008

Hyatt Place DTC is in a secluded and quiet area next to corporate buildings. The hotel is far enough off I-25 to ensure solitude.

The property appears to be new, and is quite clean and projects an image of professional hospitality. It is a hotel that is advertised as a business property, and is just that.

The rooms are small compared to Embassy Suites, but laid out better than Springhill Suites. Arrived too late to partake in activities or peruse the overall hotel, but very impressed with the bed and bath.

Only complaint for this hotel is a manual thermostat on the non-central air conditioning, resulting in a bit of trial-and-error.

* cleanliness above average (felt quite new)
* beds above average (nice pillows)
* staff (not enough interaction)
* Internet average
* air conditioning average (works well)
* price below average (great value for the overall quality)
* location average (too far South to make easy trip downtown)

“Great for the Family”

We had a 2 bedroom suite there and it was great for my family with 2 young kids. The kitchenette was small but had full size appliances so you could do any cooking necessary there. The pool area was small but adequate and protected by a courtyard so it felt very private. The cocktail hour and breakfast buffet were a great part of the deal and the hotel is conveniently located to any shopping you might need to do.

“Nice new rooms”

Hyatt Place Denver Tech Center

May 20, 2008

Hotel was nice and had just reopened (was a Amerisuites) but the pool still needed an upgrade it was a little sub par. Rooms had been redone in a very modern trendy way. With 2 kids under 7, we were worried they would break all the nice new glass stuff in the room. Although a nice hotel, not good for young kids. The free part of the continental breakfast was just OK, again not really good for little kids. It was nice all glass and china (nice for a breakfast buffet) but to worried about breaking a dish.

I got a rate of $39 a night on Hotwire. What a deal! The rooms were beautiful. We usually stay at budget hotels and this was a wonderful change.
The breakfast was great and the hottub was nice. The pool was not open yet. There are 4 computers with a printer available for use.
I would love to stay here again.
