The setting for this place is stunning. It's about 10 miles past Vail, set back in the mountains. Small hotel with very personalized service. Clean, neat and attentive staff. The spa is nice, not the greatest spa but OK. Restaurant is very nice. Great food. 5 world class golf courses. Dave Pelz, Jack Nicklaus, Hale Irwin, Tom Fazio etc. The pool needs work. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is it. 5 - 10 Million dollar homes surround the hotel.

This had to have been the best place I've ever stayed. The staff was fabulous. The food was very gourmet. A great place for couples although I went as a single Mom with 2 kids. Neither the kids or I wanted to leave for our next destination. Beautiful views, clean, wonderful staff.... I couldn't speak more highly of the accomodations or the wonderful staff. Cristal, Marc, any of the valet staff... more than helpful. THANK YOU!!!!

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at the Lodge in mid June. We stayed in the older section with a ground floor room. The room was oversized and well appointed. We had a walkout patio with unbelievable views of snowcapped mountains. The service throughout the Lodge was very good although a little slow at breakfast. Concierge, front desk and bell captains were great! The hotel was quiet and provided a great place to relax. The golf facilities were excellent with the Summit Course spectatcular! The sunsets at the Summit course were incredible. The food at the adjoining Pub was very good and provided a quick place to go without leaving the Lodge. The dining room in the lodge was also quite good.

I stayed at Cordillera over spring break at the end of March, while the lodge was offering a $96/night special. My experience was superb -- from the moment we arrived, the staff was amazingly helpful. The concierge explained all of the lodges' ammenities upon arrival, a problem with the bathroom in our room was fixed immediately, the valets spent an hour jumping my SUV two snowy mornings after our arrival and recommended an inexpensive Wal-Mart fix for my vehicle without seeming put out at all.

The room was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Avon/Vail Valley. We soaked in the outdoor hot tub and heated pool every night as the snow fell, then feasted at the in-house restaurant. (It should be noted that an equally attractive menu was available at the nordic center restaurant, which could be accompanied by a sleigh ride, but we were too lazy to leave the comfort of the lodge.)

My brother and I spent a day snowboarding at Beaver Creek. As a relative beginner (mastered blues, but not comfortable on blacks), I loved the runs at Beaver Creek. My brother wasn't as thrilled -- he prefers the longer runs at Copper. But, we both loved the mountain-side facilities of Cordillera -- complimentary shuttle service to the slopeside club with a lift just feet from the door, complimentary breakfast and lunch, water and a soft drinks, and plenty of games/internet/TV to occupy members of your party who aren't avid skiers/riders.

Again, I can't say enough about the quality of the staff at Cordillera. Everyone we met was extremely accommodating. We don't have a lot of money to spend vacationing every year, but this experience made us feel part of the good life. :)

Stayed at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera over Valentine's Day. The hotel is magnificent, but located several miles away from Beaver Creek (not for those wanting the "ski town" experience). The rooms at the Cordillera (make sure to ask for the "New Wing") are spacious and come with a gas-burning fireplace and balcony. The hotel restaurant, Mirador, was above average, however the menu was very limited (I'd recommend eating dinner in Beaver Creek or Vail if you have the option). Breakfast is served in the same restaurant until 11am and worth checking out. Had two spa treatments performed while staying at the hotel, the Cosy Chai Body Mask is not worth the $175 (scrubbed and painted in mud - highly recommended by the staff), but the Hot Stone Massage was nice. Special touches in the indoor pool area set the Cordillera aprart from most hotels - fireplace, robes, slippers, sauna, fresh fruit, lemon water, etc. Overall, would recommend the hotel for a romantic weekend getaway for those who have experienced staying in Beaver Creek and/or Vail.
