Driving through the driveway to Apple Orchard Inn is like stepping into a picture. The brochure does not do this beautiful B&B justice. Living near the beach, we wanted to get away to the mountains of Colorado to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We left Aspen, and made our way south through Montrose down highway 550 through Ouray (nice quaint town) via San Juan National Forest where we met paradise for 3 days. John assisted us with my "not so light" luggage, Celeste had warm cookies prepared, served with our choice of soft drinks or a glass of wine. The delightful host/hostess gave us just the right amount of privacy, and were available for assistance or interesting conversation. Celeste prepared a delicious dinner for our anniversary. Breakfast was always filling and scrumptious. We recommend this B&B for couples or singles. Personally, I found the constant sound of the running stream outside our open window disquieting the first night, yet not so disturbing it spoiled my stay. We left relaxed and ready to step back into the reality of life.

This is a delightful small luxurious hotel set in an old apple orchard. John does the gardening (roses everywhere at this time of year and a babbling brook to mask the noise of the traffic on the busy route 550 about a half mile away). Celeste does the social side - welcome, great snacks upon arrival, and copious, beautifully presented breakfast in the morning. Most accommodations are in seperate buildings around the garden - beautifully decorated and with a fireplace. A most romantic spot.

We have stayed at the Apple Orchard Inn every Memorial Day Week for the last 5 Years.We can't wait to get there and we hate to leave.John and Celeste are very warm caring people who really care about their guest's comfort.The Inn is located just 8 miles north of Durango with very easy access to all that southwest Colorado has to offer.From the delicious breakfast to the comfort of the rooms,this Inn has it all!!.If you are looking for a place to relax or a base to explore this part of the country the Apple Orchard Inn is where you want to be.See you next Memorial Day week!!!!

We returned from a vacation at the Apple Orchard Inn and my wife and I already miss it. My wife and I wanted to vacation in Durango because of it's proximity to Mesa Verde, Canyon de Chelly, Pagosa Springs and the city of Durango. We were looking for sun, hot springs, photography, fine dining and just relaxing. Since we didn't have a baseline to choose a property, we went to trip advisor. My wife chose the Apple Orchard Inn because of the its many Excellent reviews. The owners Celeste and John should be proud. They take pride in their Inn and it shows. We love this property. The grounds are immaculate. My wife thought the cottages were wonderful. I enjoyed the back support mattress. The breakfasts are hearty and wonderfully tasting. Celeste is a gifted cook. Next visit my wife and I are going to order a romantic dinner prepared by Celeste. A soak in the jacuzzi followed by a night cap are a wonderful way to end the day. It also helps to get a start on a deep sleep. My wife and I appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Apple Orchard Inn. We have a 5 month old daughter. Celeste, John and all the Inn guests were wonderful with her. Rowdy their dog and Teddy their cat just added another nice touch. We can't say enough great things about the Apple Orchard Inn. I travel on business frequently and wish that I could stay at B&Bs like the Apple Orchard Inn instead of upper end hotels. The Apple Orchard Inn is truly an awesome property. We can't wait for our next visit.
