“Great sushi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

This is our go to place for good sushi in Durango. Fresh and well prepared dishes, broad enough menu for the more adventurous sushi aficionados. Service can be spotty, depending on how busy they are/staffing ratios. Good happy hour specials, interesting and usually fantastic nightly specials. Good bar, although we usually have trouble ordering a second set of drinks - it takes so long to arrive we are usually done with our meal when it does. That being said this is our default date night place.

“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

I am admittedly a sushi novice, not connoisseur. However, the food was excellent and a nice change on our Southwest tour. The wait staff was very helpful, patiently answering all my questions. The items they recommended - East by Southwest roll, NY roll, and corn cakes - were delicious. Prices were appropriate. Would definitely go back.

“Pretty good; let's see what happens.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

A strange mix of what appears to be a Japanese Fusion Restaurant and a Thai restaurant next door. I asked the server watz up and he explained something about some complicated combination between two restaurant owners. But the bottom line is that the food is great. When they figure out whatever it is they are trying to do, this place is going to be the best place in Durango.

“Not your ordinary sushi restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

My wife and I went to this restaurant with another couple who live part of the time in Durango. They said it was the best sushi they have ever had. Exaggeration? Nope. It was really extraordinary. The place itself is nice. Durango is a cool little western town, and the décor in this place was consistent with a nice restaurant in that town. So, we get seated and are given this very extensive menu to look over. I have found that usually the larger the menu, the more problems with execution. Not here. We ordered a few appetizers, which were delicious, and 4 different plates of sushi rolls to be shared by the 4 of us. More than enough food. A feast, really. The presentations were very unique and elegant, and the quality was par excellence. Each plate came with an artistic drizzle of an interesting sauce. I’ve never had sushi like this before, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since I left the restaurant. The Owner/chef’s son came over at the end of our meal and spent a few minutes talking to us. He explained that his father takes pride in the food he produces, and the outcome very much reflects this. We left for home the next day, or I would have probably gone back for another go around there. If you are in Durango and you have any interest whatsoever in trying what will likely be some of the best sushi you will ever have the pleasure of indulging in, this place is for you. Hint: Make a reservation. The place is packed.

“Love the Kimchi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

I always enjoy this place. The sushi is always fresh and delicious and the kimchi is addicting! I decided to try the Rainbow Rolls which was a perfect choice. My boyfriend had the tuna rice bowl which he thought was very good. And as usual, the gyozas were hot and yummy.
