The price can become high if you start in on the mojitos and have too much fun, but the food is great. Decor is stunning.

“Best Sushi in the 4 Corners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We go here for lunch whenever we can. The Bento Box specials are excellent and very reasonably priced. Edimame, Spicy tuna or California roll, Miso Soup, Rice and your choice of an entree in each box ($12). Also, any roll or sushi on its own is spectacularly prepared, above average. Good selection of drinks, although a bit pricey. Service is nice, atmosphere as well. Easy location in historic downtown Durango.

“Our Favorite FOOD in Durango”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Don't be deceived by the modest exterior corner (with the red awning) which looks as though it's not open. Try the door ~ they are usually open for lunch and dinner. There is a water wall that separates two dining areas. If you are making a reservation ask for the booth (which seats four) directly behind the water wall, it is the most aesthetic location in the restaurant. The front open section is rather crowded and noisy as they are very busy most days, however, you can also ask for the table directly in front of the water wall, it is the best one in this section. This is the best Japanese food we've had outside of California. They do a great job with both sushi, sashimi, and hot food. Everything is delicious and reasonably priced for the nice presentation. They also offer dinner & lunch bonito boxes with miso soup & salad. And last but not least, they offer mochi ice cream for desert...pronounced MO-CHie. If you don't pronounce it correctly the waiter will correct you since he studied Japanese ~ so get it right! It is delicious with green tea, mango, and bed bean ice cream...worth every penny. The perfect finish to a great meal. If you eat early around 5-6 PM you can order off of the Happy Hour menu. Be sure you look at it before ordering as the waiter will NOT tell you the specials. I obviously wasn't that impressed with the wait staff there, but they are very busy (especially during Happy Hour) and are just trying to make a living turning tables.

Good sushi, don't miss the Hand Greade or the caterpillar. Great vegetarian dishes, my son is always full when he leaves here.

“East meets snow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We went for happy hour in Durango, with my Mother who lives there. We ordered the happy hour menu. We also ordered the miso soup and hot sake. All was fantastic, no cutting corners or skimpy amounts.

With such a happening place it was amazing our service was so great. Even with a line out the door they accepted the local's coupon. Been going to Durango since the 80's and the restaraunt scene has now arrived!
