We used the motel, just as a one night place to sleep that fit our requirements of pet friendly, not expensive for Durango in high season and convenient, but were surprised at how run down it was.
The entire property is shabby, the lobby coffee and sweet rolls were almost non-existent with only a couple of chairs cramped against a wall at the front desk, a charge for ice for the room which seemed unreasonable in light of the $100 price for substandard lodging.
The Adobe website advertises "convenient downtown location" which might be true if you had business in that part of town, but if you're a tourist interested in the historic district of Durango this motel is not within easy walking of that at all. It was misleading.
We love our dog and other people's dogs, but the two, huge resident Newfoundlands (very friendly) had to be stepped over in the tiny lobby and could use a good bath to be less smelly. We like casual places, but the Adobe either needs a makeover and a bit more emphasis on professionalism or prices cut in half.
The staff was pleasant, but we would not stay there again.

I believe this guest stayed here as well as somewhere else in Durango and is reviewing two separate properties. We do not have several of the characteristics he/she mentions although another hotel a short distance away does.

This hotel does not look old and shabby from the outside. The newest constructed hotel in town was built in the 1970's and the oldest was in 1888. There are no new hotels on Main St. in Durango, at this time.
We do offer rolls and coffee, but a table and chairs are available inside the lobby and outside there are two tables, none of these are connected to the front desk.
We open the office at 7:00 AM and have coffee, tea, and rolls available between 7 AM. till 9:30 AM. We do not charge for ice here, and the machine is outside on the property, not in the lobby.
Our location is at 20th St. and Main Ave., and Old Town proper starts at 15th St. The Train Station is at 6th and Main. The City manages a city wide, ADA compliant trolley service running every 20 minutes from our front door. We acknowledge a queen bed might seem small with two people and a large dog. If we are not fully booked we would have moved these guests to a larger room by up-grading without charging for it.
We do have two female Newfoundland dogs owned by our maintenance supervisor. They do frequent the lobby. Until this this guest's suggestion, they have always been considered as ambassadors or novelties of other guests visiting here. I am certain that we would have done anything to comfort this guest about them had he/she had said anything about it. Please note- this guest also mentioned his/her own dog.
