This establishment would be classified under the classic "Hole in the Wall" style of dining. A truly rustic Old West diner! My wife & I travel to Durango regularly for the great skiing, & we always make a point to stop by & have breakfast at the Durango Diner. The selection's are huge to say the least, & I think I have but only once completed the entire breakfast in one sitting.
It seams the waitress that regularly serves us could have been working there since the town was founded back in the 1800's. We are always met with a smile, & her service is always friendly & prompt. This is a local favorite, so you’ll need to get there reasonably early, or wait until a bit later in the day or you may have to wait to be seated. I’d estimate the room itself to be only about 15' wide, & the round stools line the kitchen area & majority of the restaurant, but there are a few tables available in the back.
My wife & I would definitely recommend Durango Diner for a very hearty, reasonably priced meal that'll stick to you ribs, all fashioned in the style of the Old West.
