This is a new hotel in Durango, and we decided to give it a try. The front desk staff was friendly and spoke to you when they were spoken to. The housekeeping staff on the other hand greeted you every time, without fail. They made the place feel more like home. It was disappointing that all other hotel staff would smile, maybe, but not greet you when they saw you. There are other Hilton brand hotels in Durango, and we have stayed in both. The other Hilton brand hotels make a point of having all staff greet you. It is very nice to feel like your business is valued by all staff. There are many hotel options in Durango, and setting yourself apart is necessary. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was plentiful each morning.
We had a studio suite, and didn't put two and two together until we arrived that studio = large room, but not so much a suite. There was a kitchenette, table, pull out sofa, and two queen beds. It would have been nice to have figured out that this was a single room when we booked the reservation. I am sharing with Trip Advisor readers so they are aware.
This hotel is located outside of downtown, between the Durango Airport and Downtown Durango. It is convenient to town, but is not within walking distance. You will need a car or bicycle in order to get to town.
Overall this was a nice hotel, but we will probably select one of the other Hilton hotels for our visit next year (we visit each year for a week).
