“Clean, Modest price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

This hotel was clean and the rooms were large. It is a good value for an older motel. I have stayed at many budget hotel in the Durango area and find this one to be a good one. Parking can be a problem when they are full, and keep in mind that this is an older motel. The breakfast is not great, but I haven't stayed at any hotels in Durango that have a good breakfast. There is a frig and microwave in the room, so you can bring your own. It is located on the northern edge of town, but I was planning to drive anywhere, so it didn't matter.

Room Tip: I had a room with no one above, which could make a difference.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are on a free trolley route so if you don't feel like driving just hop on and go explore the historical downtown.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS KNIGHTS INN. The front desk manager George should not be a manager. The attitude from George was horrible and he was very rude. Our room size was okay but the bathroom was dirty, carpets dirty, little ice box was dirty and somebody left a sandwich in the freezer. There was urine & hair on the floor below the toilet. Hair in the drain of the shower. Room smelled like yuk. we had to spray Lysol. Building needs a new paint job, old and a new manager. The evening front desk clerk had this droppy t-shirt on and her bra was showing and just real flirty with my husband, she made us both feel very uncomfortable. We should have check out the other Knights Inn downtown looked nicer. What were we thinking, we should have just left. But we were told we would not get a refund to late to cancel. We should have just took the loss and check out the other Knights Inn down town by the high school. keep on looking by pass this hotel

I apologize for the unpleasantness of your stay. I'm not sure what happened but this is not the norm for this location. The staff tries to go above and beyond to make each guests stay as pleasant as possible. We take pride in providing clean comfortable rooms. We understand the property needs some upgrades and we are working on these.

This is an below average budget hotel. The hotel is old. The room was large. No coffee in the room. Old small analog tv with 60+ channels.

Minimal breakfast. Pastries, hot cereal, oj, milk, and coffee.

The wi-fi was slow.

The service staff was very nice.

We are disappointed you didn't enjoy your stay. We are an older hotel but we try to provide clean comfortable rooms at a reasonable rate. We are doing upgrades as we can and hope you will come try us again if you return to Durango.

the room was very nice- very clean, with a microwave, fridge, 40 tv channels, chair and desk, free wifi, good breakfast.
it's on a noisy highway, but all the motels in town are!! it was quiet though by running the fan at night.

the rate was good- i'd highly recommend this motel.

This is definitely a motel. Clean enough, and the best thing going for it is the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk people. The room was adequate, but not much else. Hotels in Durango are expensive, though, so this is what I got through Priceline. I'm used to getting Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inns for the same that this one cost, so I was a little disappointed. Bed was pretty hard. Just a double in a smallish room. Everything was very motel-y, and nothing was even leaning toward high end. Strictly utilitarian. Free wifi worked well. I was given an extra pillow when I asked. Coffee and muffins were fine with me! Just don't expect a lot of creature comforts. It was just my mother and me for one night.

Thank you for reviewing our motel. All positive feedback is appreciated. We are sorry you ended up with our smallest room. We try to save it for our single, budget minded traveler but sometimes it is the last room available. Being an economy brand we do try to offer the basics plus a little more.

I spend the night here when I was doing a budge trip through the South West. This place was a bit dirty, but the staff was very nice. This gave the basic needs, a pillow and a shower. The price was a bit steep for such low accommodations.

Ended up here unexpectedly due to another lodging really messing up our reservations. I was combining business with family and my parents were pushed beyond their limits and exhausted when we arrived with dog. The Desk Clerk couldn't have been kinder, he went out of his way to accommodate us. The hotel isn't fancy, but it was clean, with decent beds and good working AC and Wifi. All the staff we met were friendly and pleasant.
