We spent 4 nights at Junction Creek Campground this July and had a great time. By great I mean there was no noise, the campsites were clean and well maintained and we saw the camp host at least once a day doing their rounds. The campground is located up a small gulch/canyon just outside of Durango. You can walk or ride your bike to the Junction Creek trail which is the starting point of the Colorado Trail. It also serves as an intermeidate to advance mountain bike trail. 10 minutes gets you into Durango but you would not know that from the campground. It's also close enough to hear the train whistle from the Durango Silverton Train.
Campsites are nice and level with lots of space and trees between, they are also angled so that you don't have a lot of back to back on the insides of the loops. New picnic tables with the extra 3ft of stove space (or ADA accesible), lantern hangers and tent pad away from the trailer spot. The vault toilets were clean and about as nice as vault toilets can be. Water spigots are convenient around each loop.
There are no hookups or dump station so you will need to plan accordingly.
We plan on spending a week here next year.
