“a vintage Motel thats not just a neon sign”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy, eclectic vintage Motel. Ive stayed in many and usually the neon sign is as good as it gets. The rooms are usually shoddy and most of the other "tenants" are of the long term sort. Not the case at The Siesta. While the furniture is old, none of it is beat up or dumpy. The bed was better than what we sleep on at home and the old school kitchenette almost convinced us to stay another night. If you enjoy chains like Howard Johnsons, this place is not for you. If youre looking for a unique experience in a 1 of a kind setting then this is your place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really have no complaints. $52 for the 2 of us, we couldnt have hoped for a better stay. Highly Recommended!

Me and my husband stayed at the Siesta in mid Sept. 09 and just loved it. The owners were very friendly and accomodating. They sent us to a couple great places to eat and told us to go on the train. We loved it. We stayed a few nights there and it felt like we were at home. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very clean. You can tell they take pride in their property, it is very well maintained. If you love clean and comfortable than its the place for you. We will deffinately be returning. Thanks Siesta Motel You are the Best Kept Secret in Durango.

Visted Durango for a couple of days, late August 2009. Stayed two nights. Clean, very nice rooms and grounds. These owners aren't looking for good enough, they put in a lot of work to keep an older Motel looking it's best. The staff was frendly and informative about the town. Will stay here My next trip to Durango. Almost past it by because of some bad reviews, ( coming from about the same date, same group?" MakesYou Wonder") Give these Folkes a try and You'll agree they deserve only high marks.
P.S. Ride the Train to SIlverton, this Old Biker needed a nice relaxing day, what a view!

This is a small, older motel with fewer than 20 units. It now has wireless internet in all rooms. Ferocious non smoking policy (I signed some kind of agreement that my credit card would be debited $200 if I violated the in room smoking ban - you can still smoke outside). Prices seemed to be quite a bit lower than comparables in Durango.

We booked this room online, based on price and recommendations on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, it seemed very pricey for a very ordinary room. Paid $95 (including taxes) and yet there was no breakfast, no pool. Rooms are small and "cutesy", including rockers and recliners, and ours had a teeny kitchenette, but it still seemed like a lot of money for nothing special. Durango is a typically overpiced tourist town, yet I saw okay-looking motels on the street advertising rooms $49-69. I wish I had not booked ahead, and took my chances shopping around. The Siesta is also prettty far north of downtown, which I could have put up with if it were a better value.

This is a quaint motel; extremely clean; there is no pool but a jacuzzi; We had 2 rooms as there were 2 adults and 3 kids. The beds were great.

Small room, small TV, small minded owners that need better customer relations and open to possible customer needs.

Maybe all people in a group should be charged the same for similar rooms?
Maybe better to group a group closer together?
