“Colorado Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

This Best Western was great. Clean and very friendly staff. The breakfast was good and had plenty to choose from. Located not right on Lake Dillon but you just had to walk across the street for a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. Loved the area and a restaurant was right next door within walking distance.

Room Tip: We opted for a cheap room as we stayed only one night so were put in the back row of buildings. If y...

This hotel is right on lake Dillon, views are spectacular there is an amphitheater across the street that plays music an fri./sat. nights all summer . The town of Dillon is quaint and artsy, The Dam Brewery was a great place for a few drinks, and a bite to eat. The whole area has micro-brewery's so you can have a variety of local beer, then retire to your balcony and watch the sun fade over the lake and mountains.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor facing the lake

We try to stay at Best Western hotels when traveling due to past pleasant experiences and the chains website. The BW on Lake Dillon was a gem for the chain. The room was clean, nicely decorated and had a bedroom, livingroom area with TV and a respectable fully furished kitchen.
The area was great for walking the dog and the view of the lake was very nice. The desk personnel were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was the standard BW and was nicely presented. As others have mentioned, there is no AC and the windows do not open fully. A trip in the spring or fall would be perfect in all respects.

Room Tip: Go for the two room "suite" as it is well worth the few extra dollars.

This hotel is located in Dillon, Co, right next to Dillon Lake. We have stayed several times, both in summer and in winter. Rooms are clean and spacious, and requests can be made for a room with a small kitchen area (stocked with dishes, pans, coffee maker and coffee, etc.) as well as pet-friendly rooms. We have brought our dog (a large golden retriever-lab mix) several times. There are walking paths just outside the hotel property that are paved, and are cleared of snow in winter, making it possible to dog walk easily no matter what the weather. The views are gorgeous from the rooms, and several reataurants are within walking distance. A buffet breakfast is served in a room next to the office, with a variety of items available including eggs, waffles, yogurt, bagels and fresh fruit. Employees have always been very friendly and helpful. In winter, lift tickets are available at the desk for nearby resorts such as Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Great location, summer or winter!

I stayed at this BW in 1997 and it has been updated nicely since I was there on a business trip. New office and breakfast room with nice view of the lake. No AC so if it is warm, arrange for a fan! Plugs and cat 5 outlets o the desk lamp, nice grounds, good breakfast. Would have appreciated an easy chair in the room.

Room Tip: Upper levels have a nice lake view

This BW has a very nice location and is quite like a " National Park" lodge. Housing consists of different " blocks" which are standing quite a bit apart. The block we were lodged in was "a short drive " from the lobby block. The room was rather small, with a little dull odor, the carpet was quite dated and dusty. The outside door which would give access to the terrace was indefinetely blocked. The reason maybe guessed. No AC in the room, maybe not necessary at this elevation.
Breakfast was served in a tiny room with 6 tables behind the lobby. The food was OK. The reception was friendly but not more. Odd was the demand to sign a declaration concerning receiving scam phone calls for which the owner declines responsibility. Never had seen this before!
Conclusive to our personal experience, we would choose another lodging option when in this area.

Room Tip: Ask for a "main block" room.

We stayed at this hotel recently and did so because of the location to Breckenridge and Vail the two places we were visiting. The hotel does not have a pool but it does have a huge hot tub which was nice at the end of the day. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. They seem to have been updated recently also. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and had a very good selection. The hotel staff were pleasant. This hotel is very small and has rooms in four different buildings but that actually seemed to help keep things quiet. The rooms have a balcony which was great for enjoying the nice evening sun. Very nice place all in all.
