“An unexpected treat in Dillon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We weren't sure what to expect when we booked but completely enjoyed our stay in this small hotel. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean. We were there during a very cold spell so not a lot of guests. There is a sauna, hot tub and pool which the owner happily opened on request. Complimentary breakfast was basic consisting of coffee, juice, fruit, instant oatmeal and bagels/waffles for the toaster--it looked fine for what it was--other than fruit and coffee we just like to eat breakfast out when we ski. No business center that I know of but they printed our boarding passes for us and the wireless Internet worked great with our iPads. The hotel is not a luxury hotel but for the money you can't beat it--it was just very homey and comfortable. I gave the hotel 4 stars not because of any complaints-- just think that 5 stars suggests a Four Seasons type experience!

“Location....location....location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Dillon, Silverthorne and Frisco are just mere driving minutes away from each other. From the inn itself, Silverthorne is 2 traffic lights away. (Breckenridge and Keystone are also close.)

Considering these towns are destinations for fishing, boating and hiking in the summertime and skiing in the winter, Dillon's central location is ideal.

The inn is surrounded by many commercial centers so dining and shopping for necessities is no problem.

A block away from the inn is a strip mall with restaurants ranging from fast food joints to local restaurants and deli. Another strip mall across the main street has Walgreens and other restaurants. A few minutes drive into Silverthorne is a Target.

Two blocks from the inn are The Outlets of Silverthorne, a must for bargain shoppers with stores like Nike, Ann Taylor, J Crew, Izod, Eddie Bauer, etc..

For real bargain hunters, expect to spend at least a day to visit a handful of great stores.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
King Room (A/C)
(Rating : ABOVE AVERAGE)

In terms of square footage, room is a bit more spacious than higher-rated hotels (i.e., The Sophia in San Diego).

Aside from the kind of bed cover typical of other chains and which we tend to immediately take off and not use, the room is spartan in it's decor but more importantly, clean.

We love the ref and the microwave in-room. Snacking and eating at any time was not a problem as we did take-outs.

For coffee-lovers like us, bring your own coffee in sachets. If you don't mind walking down to the ground floor reception, then coffee is free at your convenience. I also noticed when we first checked on their website that continental breakfast is free. Unfortunately, we did not avail of this in both our visits so I do not even know what their continental breakfast consists of.

AMENITIES:
(Rating : ABOVE AVERAGE)

Parking is great. Ample parking spaces for hotel guests.

There is an indoor pool and hot tub adjoining the inn. Full disclosure though, we personally did not go in and check them out although we saw some guests were there (can be seen from the parking area).

The grounds and parking area was clean.

The only thing that could do with a bit more sprucing up would be the lobby. As you enter the main door, it is dark and with all the dark green carpet and dark/somber decor, it makes the whole area gloomy. Also a musky smell (not overly offensive) but otherwise, the area looked clean.

SERVICE:
(Rating : EXCELLENT)

Booking is thru phone direct to the Inn.

Check-in is quick and both our visits, we were accommodated with early check-in although, I would caution on expecting this as our visits were during the lean season.

On our first visit, we asked the staff where we could dine and we were referred to nearby restaurants thjay did not disappoint and which we really enjoyed.

Overall, the comfort and amenities provided by Dillon Inn compared to it's price is a definite value. I would definitely recommend Dillon Inn.

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

It is also close to Keystone, the resort where we wanted to go to. It is also close to the Dam Brewery, one of the famous restaurants in Dillon. You can literally jump from the hotel parking lot to the Dam's parking lot. I would have done that in the warmer weather. If you are interested in shopping, it is only 5 minutes away from the hotel. The location is very convenient.

As far as the motel, they have a reasonable price considering that we went to CO only a few days before Christmas. We were charged different prices for the two nights we stayed there. The second night was $10 cheaper. The motel is clean and the owners are very friendly. The continental breakfast is good enough to start your day. Too bad they do not have tea. The good thing is that we brought our own tea bags. So, problem solved! Bring your own shampoo because they don't have one. We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we go to CO.

“Good price, good hotel, nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

This motel is conveniently located just below the dam in Dillon. It's near the outlet mall and several restaurants and close to I-70, The room was clean, quiet and had wifi, fridge and microwave. The price was great as well, so we were very happy and would stay here again.

“Good price, clean and close to the lake, shopping and skiing.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

This hotel is very homey ...it is down to earth, It does a good job giving you a good, clean, quite place to sleep. The furnishing are older but the room was clean. We had three people in our room and it felt a little small. BRING A PILLOW. The pillows were clean but very, very flat! If you want to eat there are plenty of places within walking distance. The buffet breakfast was just enough to get you going. The plants and gardens are very nice. You can walk to town and up near the dam. It provides great views of the lake and mountains. It is a short distance to all the things you want to do when you are in Dillon or Silverthorne.
