I approached this hotel with a fair amount of skepticism for a few reasons- 1) it used to be an Embassy Suites, and 2) we used points to pay for our night, so I assumed we'd be stuck with a less-than-average room, and 3) we stayed 2 days after the DNC left town. I am delighted to report that I was wrong on all counts. This hotel lives up to its brand name and still manages to exceed expectations.

The check in process was nearly instantaneous, the management is very effective at keeping the proper amount of staff for busy check-in hours. The doormen and valets were genuine and courteous as can be. The room itself (we used rewards points) was far and above outstanding. There wasn't a detail that was overlooked in decorating this hotel. The 42" LCD TV was great, and the bed incredibly comfortable. The view was nothing special as downtown Denver isn't anything great to look at.

The management of this hotel obviously knows exactly how to please. By far the best part of staying here was the hotel car, a Rolls-Royce that will take you anywhere downtown for free. Rod the driver is a really nice guy, and the trip of 8 blocks was something my wife and I will never forget. Great hotel, if you are coming to downtown Denver, this is about as good as it gets!!!!

  • Liked — Every detail is looked after in the rooms and common areas.
  • Disliked — The location across from the Greyhound station.

Fantastic hotel with excellent service; it was everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff always remembered our name and were extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very good too. Would definately stay here again.

The wonderful experience started a few days ahead of our arrival as I received a personalized email - I was asked if I have special needs or wishes... - a pleasent surprise. From the moment we arrived with our rental car - the outstanding service was "feel-able". We were greated by name (a look at the travel-tags on our luggage provided them with our names) and the check in was really easy. We were escorted to our room - which was very nice- but had 1 flaw - I requested a room without a connecting door - and that room had one. I told the staff - and approx. 1 minute later I was told that the management was very sorry about that "mistake" and we were upgraded (for no extra fee) to a suite. WOW! Needless to say that the suite was a dream come true -
large living room with flat-screen tv, Bose surround sound system, beautiful leather couch, larg working desk, Nespresso-coffee maker. The bath was fantastic - big shower and bath-tub, Bulgary bathing products and a heated steam-free mirror!! The walk in-closet was large too - in there were bathrobes, a large safe and a flashlight (in case the power goes out) - oh - and an umbrella. The short walkway from the bath to the bedroom had
motion-detector-lights - so when you got up at night you didn't need to turn on the lights - as the floor was lightened whenever you moved - great!! The bedroom had a very comfortable bed - and (of course...) a large flat-screen tv. Whenever we left the room we were greated by name - the doors were opened for us and the guys from valet-parking literaly "ran" to get our car (we never waited longer than 2 minutes). We didn't took advantage
of the Ritz's Rolls Royce Limo nor did we attend the spa or the
restaurants (simply no time as we explored the city) - so I can't
comment on that. The location is great - only 5 min. walk to the
16th Street Mall with all the shops and restaurants - and (in case you need one) - a post office is only 1 min. away. So - overall -
a wonderful experience - we loved the Ritz (and Denver) - and
we will definitely come again (and hope for another connecting
door we don't want...) :)

Jul 22, 2008 | Trip type: Business

I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Denver on business for one night. Even in that short time-frame, the hotel staff and facilities managed to exceed my expectations. As soon as my cab arrived in the driveway, there were people helping me out of the car and bringing my bags into the lobby.

The front desk reps were very friendly upon check-in, as well as the second and third time I visited (for directions and to replace a room key).

The room was impeccably clean. I loved the option of having a shower and a separate bathtub. It was so inviting that even after a long night (working), I couldn't resist drawing up a bubble bath. The sink and counters as well as the floor were polished marble and the Bulgari toiletries were really nice. The closeted toilet was a classy touch, so I didn't have to be eye level with the commode while I was in the tub.

The bed was awesome - lots of pillows, crisp sheets, comfortable mattress... There weren't many channels to pick from on the tv as I unwound, but it wasn't a big deal.

The service at Elways was EXCEPTIONAL - but the food was only "okay." When I first arrived, I was starving and only had 5 minutes to grab lunch before a meeting. I was greeted by Corey Stewart who asked the chef to consult with me for some quick options. The chef actually came out to speak with me one-on-one and proceeded to whip me up a turkey sandwich in three minutes, which was actually really tasty. Other than that, though, the room service meal I ordered later for dinner and the next day for lunch was only, eh...so so.

Throughout my stay at the hotel, I was perpetually greeted by super-friendly staff (including room service). I went home happy and have only nice things to say about my stay.

  • Liked — the accomodations
