Now, when you have an opportunity to stay at a Ritz that’s a month and half old, you take it. lad I did. The service at valet and check-in was top notch. The room was gorgeous. Well laid out, brand new flat screen TV, marble bathroom, glassed in shower, and separate soaking tub. They had overhead lights over the bed that you could turn off with a switch on the side of the night stand. The in room coffee was superb and the turn down service, (providing ice and bottled water at bed side) was great. The beds are comfy. All is top notch about the hotel.
The only issue to point out is that the hotel is directly across from the Denver bus station. I find that a bit odd, especially when walking to LoDo, and being hit up for cash by the homeless congregating in front of the Greydog’s lair (bus station). So a word to the wise, if you are uncomfortable with the homeless, be careful around the hotel. Second word to the wise, 7 blocks away in LoDo is Vesta’s Dipping Grill. Highly recommended. Food was fantastic, service was great, and they let you eat at the bar if you are solo on business.
I can offer no review of Elway’s, which is the Ritz’s restaurant. However, I was told by my local colleagues not to bother. However, in keeping with the review parameters, I can offer no opinion because I did not grab a beer in their bar or otherwise eat there. Both nights when I returned, the bar sounded crowded, but I did not get an opportunity to go in.
In sum, fantastic hotel, fantastic service, and I hope to get a room there on my next run through Denver.
