Just got back from a two-night stay at this hotel. Everything about this place was wonderful. The rooms are newly updated so everything is very nice and clean! The double room also has a recliner, desk with chair and armoire that contains three drawers, a TV, a microwave, a refrigerator and a coffee area. The sink is outside the rest of the bathroom and there is a small closet with full length-mirrored doors.

From our room, we could see downtown Denver and the mts. and it is just off of I-70, although one would never know it. We had an end room on the highway side and never heard a thing.

They actually have a "gated" parking area. The prairie dog habitat right outside the hotel was very unusual and interesting.

The hotel staff was wonderfully accommodating and the food!! When we arrived there was freshly made popcorn and free sodas for the rest of the evening until 10 pm. At 5:30, they start dinner, and I DO mean dinner--not just snacks. The first night, they had baked potatoes, pizzas galore, nachos, chips, chex mix, salad, etc. along with free sodas and one alcoholic mixed beverage per adult guest. We all had non-alcoholic beverages like Shirley Temples, Tom Collins' etc, as many as we wanted. The second night, instead of pizza, they had hot dogs and chili. In the morning, there was eggs and sausage, cereals, yogurts, make-your-own waffles, bananas, oranges, juices, milk, coffee, french toast, biscuits and gravy--you name it!! They also had a "guest pantry" where things like ice creams bars were available for purchase. We never had to leave the hotel. But, just in case you need more food, there is a McDonald's across the street and a 7-11 a block away.

The pool is indoor/outdoor and there's a small hot tub as well. The lobby has new furniture (not what is show in the photos on this site) and we hung out there quite a bit to play games.

They leave a bill under your door and you don't even have to turn in your key so there's no check out wait time involved.

We were very, very impressed by this hotel--it's newness, quietness, food, staff, etc. especially for only $62 a night. We highly recommend this hotel!!

Stayed here in September 2006 at the start of our holiday.

Good hotel – quiet room despite being near the I-70 and busy Peoria street. Arrived later than expected (as the flight was nearly an hour late - BA flight from London Heathrow) so didn’t get the opportunity to sample their evening greeting – did though still have access to soft drinks. Also didn’t have an opportunity to use the pool etc. so can’t comment on this.

Hotel close to the airport and relatively easy to find providing you follow the directions given, otherwise you have to double back on yourself.

Breakfast was good with a good choice – both hot and cold, and all included in the price.

  • Liked — Location and quietness
  • Disliked — Need to follow the directions - easy to get lost

For a relatively cheap, quite clean place, the Drury Inn in Denver certainly appeased us. They provided pizza and some snacks during the evening, which was certainly welcome and very much appreciated.

When we checked in, the lady greeted us and advised that we could get a king room, for two nights, at $54 US each night.

I was elated, given that I'd read pretty decent reviews about this hotel. So I sign up, we go to our room ,everything is fine.

The pizza, the popcorn and the pool, all great.

On our final morning when we were checking out, they placed the bill under the door (a subtle reminder that we need to leave) and had charged us $54 for the first night, and $96 for the second.

When querying this, the woman treated me as though I was lying, and that I must be dreaming if I'd get the same room for $54 on a Saturday night. After much frustration and complaining, she eventually knocked it down to $64 for the second night.

I was not particularly happy, but it certainly was a lot better than the original price. We left, and probably won't return. The place was good, but the service was not so.

Having said that, Denver was awesome!

Drury has a promotion for a free room upgrade with a printout of the promotion but this hotel did not know anything about the promotion and did not honor it. Our room on the third floor had a musty smell.

Management response from Kim Chappell, eMarketing Coordinator
(Management representative)
Sep 20, 2006
My name is Kim Chappell and I am the eMarketing Coordinator for Drury Hotels. The mentioned free room upgrade was an end of the summer promotion offered by Drury Hotels for a free upgrade to a suite with coupon based on availability during the stay. Please note, the coupon did state this offer was based upon where suites were available. We apologize for any misunderstanding but this particular hotel does not have any suite rooms which explains why the upgrade coupon was not available. Hotel management has been contacted to address the musty smell in the room. If you have any further questions about Drury Hotels, please let us know and we are happy to help!

Stayed for 3 nights with our 2 kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, nice breakfast. The pool was fun for the kids. When we checked out we were charged $20 less each night than I was quoted when I made the reservation. All my Drury experiences have been good ones. Not much nearby, but that was OK.
