We had never stayed at a Drury Inn before, but the price was very good, and we had a car. What an unexpected pleasure. The location is about 15-20 minutes by freeway (or highway, depending on where you are from) to downtown and is adjacent to the freeway. Noise was not a problem. If you want dinner near the hotel, you will have to drive. However, if you have a car, this is a great place. Parking is free. The room was large, comfortable, and clean, with a refrigerator and microwave. There is an indoor pool and spa, neither of which we used. The extended continental breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles, plus fresh fruit. There was a late afternoon "cocktail" buffet with pizza, nachos, and other carbs, but great if you had a large lunch or are on a very tight budget. You could make a casual dinner of it. Plus, we got coupons for 3 free drinks (alcoholic beverages included) per person per night. The drinks were served from 5:30-7 p.m. and changed each evening (mixed drinks, not an open bar). We were allowed to check out at noon, an hour after official check-out time. The hotel is on the way to the airport, so you are 15-20 minutes from DIA. The neighborhood is sort of industrial park-like, with an adjacent lot full of the most brazen gophers and rabbits I have ever seen in a populated area. Interestingly, I had originally booked on the hotel's website. Then I happened to find a less expensive rate on Orbitz. Hotel was not willing to match the rate, so I cancelled hotel reservation and made it through Orbitz, even though I had to pay in advance.
Too bad there aren't more of these where we go.
