We had a family emergency & needed to leave one day early. We had paid for 4 nights, and told them on the second day that we would have to be leaving early. They refused to refund our money.....Even Though HOTWIRE was willing to give us a refund (if the hotel would agree) but they still wouldn't.

I will book with Hotwire again.......but I will never stay in a La Quinta by choice.....especially this one... ever again.

“Comfortable Stay”

La Quinta Inn Denver Central

The rooms were very clean.

The continental breakfast was standard fare: packaged muffins, cereals, bagels, rolls, juices, coffee, fruit, yogurt, etc., anything you'd need. Everything was fresh.

The staff was very friendly.

The location was convenient, off of 25, south of 70, exit at Park Ave. It is easy to get back on 25 north or south. On north 25, the very next exit is the airport, which made it convenient for catching our early flight. On south 25, one of the next exits is Colfax, which going east leads downtown as well. Federal Blvd has many gas stations, restaurants (try Jack N Grill), and car washes. The location gave easy access for a drive downtown. I wouldn't recommend walking to downtown after dark. The route would not be well lit, and after dark, there were many vagrants on the route (near downtown, but not near the hotel itself). It is next to a railyard and the freeway, but the noise wasn't bothersome; the freeway noise was more prominent than the railyard.

The TV, iron, ironing board, remotes, alarm clocks, shower, etc. were all functioning properly and in good repair.

A restaurant that serves breakfast is next to the hotel and open until 3 p.m. A Starbucks and small shopping area is going up next to the hotel. There is also a gas station with a McDonald's Express in it next to the hotel.

Overall, this was a great value.

I stayed here twice during the month of September. Both times had a great experience, found the staff very helpful. The breakfast is very simple. Even though the hotel is near the railroad and the highways, the rooms were quiet -- and the AC fan made for comfortable sleeping.

This hotel allows pets, which was the main reason I stayed here to begin with.

The hotel is close to I-70 and I-25, an easy drive to downtown, and the river trail is within walking distance.

I'll definitely be back,

I got this hotel through Priceline and was very pleased. The staff were super friendly & accomodating. They offered a nice complimentary continental breakfast - fruit, yogurt, bagels, cereals. The room was clean, modern, comfortable and quiet (the outside looks shabby but the rooms were redone). You are right by the Platte River bike/walking trail. The only negative was you're not really close to anything. It's about a mile from downtown, half a mile from downtown and sandwiched between I-25 and the railway yards. Still, for the price, it's an excellent value.

“Just OK - no major problem, but looks old”

La Quinta Inn Denver Central

I have stayed in La Quinta in several other cities, and this one (Denver downtown @ Park Ave) is the worst amongst those. There is no major problem with this inn, but everything looks old. In the double-bed room, the mattress is smaller than regular hotels. There is no elevator in the inn - you have to walk outdoor stairs to your room. Wireless internet is cool though. Summary of this inn: don't expect much out of it.
