Great staff - always friendly and helpful. I stay here all the time when I have an early departure or late arrival into DEN. Although they aren't at the airport anymore, because the airport moved 15 miles away, they still function very much as an airport hotel - shuttles every 1/2 hour, lots of flight crew, and often where UA and Frontier send passengers stuck from cancellations. They do have park-and-fly arrangements available for leaving your car.

Reasonably priced for a full-service hotel. Decent food in the cafe restaurant and good selection of food and beers in the "Characters" bar.

Really comfortable beds - they have the new cushy beds that much of the Hilton Family brands are installing. Plenty of pillows. Very comfortable rooms and most of them have been renovated within the past year or two - a floor or two is still getting completed, so there's about a 20% chance of getting a comfortable but older-furnishings room.

Yes, the hotel overall is older, and the hallways, even on the renovated floors, could be a bit spiffier. But that's pretty minor compared to the overall quality of service and value for the money.

If you're visiting Denver, be aware that it's not downtown. It's about 20 minutes via the highway or a bit less if you know (or ask about) the back way. They do run a free shuttle to the 16th Street pedestrian mall heart of downtown Denver. So if you like to visit cities but not stay right in the downtown sections, this could be a good choice.

Lots of fast food and shopping options right across the street in the Stapleton shopping area, and a big new mall just across I-70 in the Stapleton Northfield center, so there's things to do in the area too.

Noisey, loud and over the hill. The rooms are okay, now if you could just find a hotel to put them in, they'd have something here.

Location is close to many stores, but even ear plugs didn't save me from the noise. They seem unable to control their guests, not to mention the layout and rooms are designed to carry noise most efficiently to your inner ear.

After a particularly bad night, it only took four calls to the front desk before a security guard showed up and SCREAMED down the hallway "You all are making too much noise, go into your rooms." Swift one.

Staff did not follow through on anything, ever. Worst hotel in the world for business travelers. Stay away. Arrived this evening after tough day to find two huge drunk guys wrestling on the floor in front of the front desk. Though the two were having a good time, the behavior was nowhere near appropriate and not a word was said by the staff.

Oh, the restaurant. I sent my food back and so did the people sitting next to me. In my case, the soup was rated suitable for snow repellant duty on Denver's roads in the winter. More salt in that soup than in a saltshaker.

By the way, I'm writing this at 5:43in the morning. Did I want to get up this early after turning in at 2am? No, but the people across the hall did.

I stayed at this hotel for business in the middle of October this year. I checked in on a Sunday and it was quick and easy. However, with my business I have a lot of extra luggage and need help to get it to my room. That said their bell service was really lacking and I ended up paying a teenager in the lobby $10 to help me out. The elevators in this hotel are slow and very small. The rooms are fairly nice, but the hallways are tired and dirty looking. I will say this the view from my room was pretty outstanding of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. The restaurant downstairs is pretty good and parking is free. I guess I just expected more from a Doubletree based on my other stays in other cities with this chain because the rate ($200/night) was not worth it.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on our first trip to Denver, and it was totally fine. Nothing seriously fancy, but good enough for the price. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown, but it's right off of 70, the main highway, so it's really easy to get back and forth. We had a great time in Denver and we were really only at the hotel to sleep, but we were not disappointed. The hallways are a bit older and look like they could use some sprucing up, but the bed was awesome. The hot tub was only lukewarm and kind of dirty, but we weren't there for the hot tub, so whatever.
The 2 bars were cool too. The one in the main lobby closes at 10pm, but there is another one that is open until 2am. Too bad we only found this out our last night there....
They have a business center with 3 computers with free internet access. Kind of slow, but good enough to check emails or look up restaurants/directions/reviews, etc.

I would totally stay here again and I'd recommend it to friends going to Denver. Oh, and the cookies were really good and really warm when they gave it to us at check-in.

  • Liked — Price, friendly front desk, good cleaning service
  • Disliked — Gross hot tub

I was impressed with this hotel after reading some of the poor reviews. The beds were very comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful when needed. It is within walking distance of shopping areas but you do have to cross major streets with lights. I would happily stay here again.
