The lobby is nice, and the room was not bad. The bed was very comfortable. The chairs were so old that the finish was mostly rubbed off of the arms. There is no microwave or refrigerator. When I went to plug in my laptop, I discovered that the outlets are still the 2 prong type, and can't accept a ground plug. I think they stopped using those in the 60"s! I had to call the front desk to get an adapter, and they did have one sent up quickly. The kid that brought it up did not want to just give it to me, and even went so far as to ask if I knew how to install it. I think I am capable of sticking in a plug! He really wanted a tip. I tip well for good service, but I am not going to tip for something I should have had in the first place.
I went to breakfast, which was really not very good, and when it came time to pay I laid a $100.00 bill on the check. The waitress said she couldn't break it, but they could at the front desk. I went out and got $20's, placing $40.00 on the $28.00 bill. Once again I was told she couldn't break it. She then said that she didn't have a register, and I had to pay at the front desk. Why in the world didn't she say that in the first place? To not have a register in the restaurant is not to bright! The front desk was busy checking people in, which combined with the people wanting to pay from the restaurant made for a long wait.
There is a shuttle that runs to the Convention Center, and you have to give one hour notice before you leave the hotel, and when you want to be picked up. I have no problem with this. What I have a problem with, is the fact that they forgot to pick me up, even though I called twice! I called at 3:00 for a 4:00 pickup. At 4:10 I called to verify they were on the way, and was told in a snippy tone that they had to do dropoffs first, and they would be there shortly. At 5:00 my sister stopped by the hotel to pick me up for dinner, and she called my cell to find out where I was. I asked her if the shuttle was in the parking lot, and when she affirmed that it was, I asked her to go in and ask if there was more than one. She was told that there was only one, and when she explained to them that I was still sitting at the Convention Center waiting, they told her there was no record of me calling. It was 100 degrees out that day, and to say the least I was a little ticked off! Two calls, and no one logged that I needed a ride!
This is in no way a 3 star hotel! I would advise you to pay a couple of bucks more, and get your moneys worth.
