The host (possibly the owner) was very friendly, gracious, and inviting. Service was very good with a good knowledge of the wine list. Mozzarella tomato salad was chunky and clunky, not many heirloom tomatoes, hardly any fresh basil and not much of a dressing. Tagliatelle tuna pasta plate was good, small portion with very little tuna , and missing the fried capers that were listed on the menu description. Prawn risotto was bland, not seasoned but saffron was present, the shrimp were served whole with the head, legs, antennae, and dirty poop veins intact. Had to use fingers to clean the shrimp, and a knife to clean the poop veins, all of which should have been done in the kitchen. No salt & pepper on the tables like many fine restaurants. Asked for salt, better under-seasoned than over, I guess. We were giving IL Posto a second chance based on recent good reviews, don't know if there will be a third.
