“hard to find at night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2007

we got in to DIA after dark picked up the car(well mini-van Dollar had no cars left)called at a nearby Wal-mart then tried to find towneplace,oh dear what a nightmare, drove around but no sign of the place, went in a petrol station and the young man had never heard of it but he said it should down the road where we finally found the suites after driving past it twice, apart from that everything was very good, great room, big and clean with a well equipped kitchen, helpful staff who kept saying sorry about the lack of a big sign on the road near the hotel, apparently they have told the big wigs about this problem but to no avail, now we know where it is we will stay there again should we ever go back Denver.

friendly staff, kitchen in the room, supermarket next door, internet connection, convenient location, good rate. It is simply better than some of the more expensive hotels that I have stayed. Will come back if I visit Denver next time.

I stayed at this property three nights. Because of the location, near where two Interstates meet, I expected a great deal of off-and-on the highway turnover. Thus, a so-so hotel. But chatting up some of the other guests, I found that many were 'return' clients. A good number of them were business travelers. The squeaky-clean rooms, the "pantry" available to those who arrive after hours, and the pillow-top matresses seem to be what brings them back. I've stayed at other Towneplace Suites that were just average, but this particular franchise is outstanding.

  • Liked — It is convenient having the property attached to a small shopping center -- the Southmoor light-rail station is a short walk.
  • Disliked — There are folks checking in and out 24/7 -- smallest in-ground swimming pool I've ever seen.

Although the property is for "extended stays," I got a great rate so I stayed here for two nights as I attended a conference at Denver University. The main reason I chose the Towneplace Suites Southeast is its location - right on the RTD lightrail. It was easy to get to the lightrail and take it to DU each day. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The room itself was only "average" in terms of cleanliness. There was a stale odor in the room (possibly smoke even though I had requested a non-smoking room). There was hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower. The location is desirable due to its proximity to lightrail, but it is also right next to the interstate so you hear some traffic noise from your room. There is a Chilis restaurant and United Artist movie theater adjacent - just across the parking lot.

Our family of 2 adults and two kids (age 8 and 9) stayed here for 4 nights following a trip to the Vail Valley. It was in a good location, close to restaurants, movie theatre, grocery store, easy access to freeway. Staff was VERY helpful in every aspect of our stay, however we did encounter a few glitches.
1.) I booked a 2 bedroom suite using my Marriott Reward Points. When we arrived, we were told that they were overbooked and a 2BR was not available, even though we had a confirmation number. They offered us 2 connecting studio suites instead. We put the kids in one studio and the adults in the other. There were pros and cons to this. One good thing was we now had 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. It actually worked out ok, but I hate it when you book something and its confirmed, and you arrive and its not available.
2.) One of the studio suites had a REALLY OBNOXIOUS ODOR. I can't even describe the smell. Turns out, housekeeping recently set off a bug bomb in the room and the smell was the after-effect. In attempt to cover the odor, housekeeping came and sprayed air freshener in the room. As you can imagine, the air freshener made things worse. We actually had to change our plans and leave for three hours (we took the kids to a movie). When we returned, the smell was still there, but not as strong. For our entire stay, I could smell the "bomb" odor. On the plus side, we saw no bugs.
3.) The rooms looked exactly like the pictures, no surprises here.As one other review stated, hot water does not exist for a shower. We tried taking showers at different times, but still, no hot water, morning, noon, or night. Pool was really small, we didn't even bother going in it.
4.)Overall, not a bad choice for an extended stay or for families. Had we not had the room problems, I could give this place a better rating. Staff was exceptional.

We stayed at the TownePlace Suites in late June, 2007 and it was incredible. The Southmoor literail station (Denver public transportation) is practically in the parking lot and convenient for going downtown. The hotel is in a very safe neighboorhood with several nice places to eat nearby (all in walking distance) as well as a supermarket for those that want to buy food to cook. The pool area although small is really nice (pool is heated). The hotel and all areas were very clean. The room had a full kitchen, that was well stocked with dishes. The best asset of the hotel is the staff. Every employee we encountered made us feel appreciated, and valued.

  • Disliked — Nothing - it was excellent!

We were on a two week vacation from California to Denver. Our final stop was in Denver prior to flying back home. The rooms were nice for our family of six. Only one bathroom was a minor inconvenience. Never having enough hot water for showering was a nuisance. After experiencing that the first morning we made sure to wake up earlier so we’d be able to shower the next morning. We still ran short on hot water, not sure what the problem is but they don’t offer much hot water. The pool was small and closed very early at 9 PM. They don’t offer a breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The location was good, but it took us a while to find the place because the signs are small and it’s a little off of the main road. I’m not sure I’d stay there again, I like hot showers and don’t care for the pools hours.
