We stayed here for a conference that was hosted at the Convention Center. The beds are comfortable and the views can be nice (we had a mountain view). There is an indoor/outdoor pool, albeit shallow under five 5eet. Location is very nice in the heart of downtown if you can handle that. It was my first experience to Denver. Everything seems to be reachable by walking. There are a lot of places to eat and shop if you which. The desk personnel and concierge are very helpful too. It is an expensive hotel however, fortunately we had gotten the room for a discounted rate. Our room even had a complimentary bottle of wine, Do not touch the tray of snacks as you will get charged for them (we did not touch them).

Room Tip: get a Mountain view room

Our company recently hosted a business conference at this property for 350 people. The hotel event and banquet staff were excellent. They quickly became part of our team and helped with everything from meal logistics to budget and time management to assisting with minor organization details. Rhiannon, Ashley, Anastasha, Lucia, Szilvia and John were instrumental in helping us pull off a successful event. We really appreciate their genuine hospitality and service and could have not have pulled such a successful event without them. Also, the food was great!

Room Tip: The rooms on the patio level are the best. Great to have outdoor access.

Westin has an opportunity to really make strides in creating a positive marijuana vacay that doesn't impact other guests while capturing an opportunity to demonstrate a progressive marijuana use policy, but instead provides limited direction about marijuana use on-site that leaves one befuddled.

What's more, by continuing to refuse to provide adequate facilities for the consumption of marijuana, Westin only sustains the stigma that medical and recreational marijuana users have lived with for decades up to this point. Guests I saw were often relegated to coping a bowl out by the trash can on the corner near the front of the hotel or in the park behind the hotel, with rats and vagrants.

Westin, please note that cannabis is currently under review by the FDA for rescheduling as a class 2 narcotic and as such you will sooner or later have to be prepared to provide adequate facilities.

Front desk staff distribute phosne numbers that can be texted for any advice. The cards say "Ask anything, any time." My first contact at this number for appropriate places to smoke weed were rebuffed with intentionally ambiguous responses.

I was relegated to hitting off my vape pen in my room, but even this drew ire. Every time I went up to my room, the Westin stasi would be perpetually hovering over my room for no reason whatsoever. The sign on the front says no smoking, and vaping mind you, is not smoking as there is no combustion.

The property is still trapped in the Reagan-era drug scare, and absolutely petrified about how to handle the great opportunity that Denver and Colorado has been provided.

So with that, here's a guide to flower and accessories in Downtown denver:

Lodo's Dispensary: Close to hotel on 16th street mall, grade A product, knowledgeable enthusiastic staff. Small place though, kind of shoe horned into an office building.

Mile High Pipe and Tobacco: Spot very close to Westin, walking distance, they cater to tourists with $10 glass bowls but also have a awesome glass selection. Hard to find on google maps for some reason, so here's the addy:

If the day is nice, Cheseman park in uptown denver is great to chill. Hit the taxi stand just outside the hotel.

Presently staying here with my infant son and husband. We usually stay at the sheraton but decided to give the Westin a try. Checkin was easy, and our reservation was quickly found. An upgrade was not available but we were assured that a crib would be waiting in our room. When we arrived in our room, the crib was not there. If you read my prior posts you will see that this is a theme at SPG properties. Deeply frustrating, especially when traveling with a baby and arriving at night. The crib was promptly brought up when we called down. We also had an emergency while we were visiting that required a trip to the ER. We wound up at the ER late at night and had a hard time getting a cab back to the hotel. After waiting at the hospital for over an hour, I phoned the hotel to ask their advice. Certain they would rise to the occasion and offer some assistance. they assured me there was nothing they could do and suggested I call a cab. Which I had already done, and was quite disappointing. On a more positive note, after speaking to one very helpful front-desk worker called Mareana, she was able to find us a suite, where we would be able to gain a little more space from our son, thereby allowing us to not eat our dinner on the floor of the bathroom! She truly went above and beyond and that is generally what you expect as a member of a preferred guest program.
Other notes: great pool, prompt and friendly room service, great location, helpful bellhop.

Room Tip: Higher floors seem to gave better AC

We are SPG members, and used our points to redeem two free nights in the Tabor suite. This is actually two adjoining rooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen murphy bed and a couch. We reserved it through the SPG 800 number, and I was given a confirmation number and an email was sent to me. When we got to check in, we were dismayed at the discovery that the Westin did not have any record of this reservation being made. They said it had happened a few times before, that they did not receive the information from the call center. We were very fortunate, though, that Michael was on duty at the desk. He took over the situation right away, was very apologetic, and worked quickly and diligently to get us into a room. At first, he did not think he could get us into the room we booked, but was trying to arrange something equivalent, but he kept at it until he was able to find a way to place us into the same suite we had reserved. I was so impressed with his professionalism and his dedication to customer service. He even offered us a few extra items for our trouble.

The suite was spacious and very comfortable, internet access and service worked well, everything was clean and serviceable. The view was fantastic, as we were on an upper level floor. Location of the hotel was great for being able to walk to restaurants, and my husband was thrilled that he could walk to the baseball stadium for the game.

We had room service one night, and the gentleman who took care of us was exceedingly polite and eager to please. I was also thoroughly impressed with his commitment to service. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name; it may have been Adolfo.

I would not hesitate to return and to recommend this hotel to others based upon the service we received when we were there.

Green Features: I appreciate the Westin's participation in the Green Choice program. However, it can be difficult to remember to put the card on the door before you go to sleep at night, which you need to do in order to participate.

Our room smelled like sour milk or worse. We also found large pieces of food under the bathroom counter. The street noise was very loud. We checked in late and the hotel was completely booked so we could not change rooms. This was my worst hotel experience ever.

Room Tip: Don't stay here until improvements are made in housekeeping. Ask for a quiet room.
