We live in a small rural town and I have enjoyed staying at the luxurious Oxford at least once a year since 1999. I have tried other downtown hotels but the Oxford always draws me back. Why? Beautifully appointed rooms. A wonderful staff with little turn over and they always remember me. The canary in the lobby. The Cruise Room is absolutely wonderful. Now they are pet friendly - and when we got complaints about our dog whining while we were at dinner, the staff told us they would have walked him had the Do Not Disturb tassle (very classy DND sign) not been on the door. Car service is almost always available, and if it isn't I don't mind waiting, because I know that when they show up to get me they will be polite and courteous. Room service is always excellent. The staff makes you feel like you are a personal guest in their home. And if something isn't right, they always fix it for you. It can be noisy outside in the mornings but hey, this is the most historic hotel in Denver and you are, after all, downtown. Many of the rooms I have stayed in are designed so the bed is furthest from any disruptions.
