“Can't Beat It!”

The Burnsley All-Suite Hotel

Jun 24, 2007

The Burnsley was wonderful! My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the Colorado Suites. When we checked in we were welcomed with dessert bites. Later in the evening we accidently locked ourselves out of our bathroom and the front desk immediately sent someone up with a key. The view of downtown along with the balcony (accesible from both the living and bedroom) was exceptional. The appliances are all full size and the suite is very roomy. The bed was very comfortable and it featured designer bedding. I would recommend that you splurge and stay in a Colorado Suite. We also ate downstairs for breakfast. There was no seat yourself sign displayed so it was a little confusing. We found our server to be very helpful and prompt. The food was well plated and priced. Most importantly it was delicious. I had a herb omelette with goat cheese and my boyfriend got pancakes. The burnsley is a great property.

“Bizarre breakfast aide”

The Burnsley All-Suite Hotel

Sunday morning breakfast (only one complimentary coupon per room--otherwise $9): All but 1 of 5 get the buffet. Server required to pour our coffee (no coffee self-serve). Our bill: $38. I leave $5, 13% by my calculation--decent for a buffet experience. Sunday night 10 pm, the server calls our room and tells us he is disgusted with the tip we left, "I broke my back for you people, and this is the best you can do?!" I am serious. We are stunned and call the front desk. They apologize, and assure us the manager will get back to us. The next morning at check out we repeat our experience. Again, we are assured the manager will contact us.

When we get home, we call a few times to report to the Burnsley manager, leave voice messages, but never get a call back.

The hotel? Not bad. The psychotic (Terry) in the breakfast room? Do you think you could improve on him a tad? You might want to indicate as well that you care about your guests being browbeaten into a tip.

“HUGE Room, excellent stay!”

The Burnsley All-Suite Hotel

I read the reviews and was too scared. We stayed on the 13th floor in
a VERY large one bedroom suite. It had a FULL living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom with king bed, spacious bath and balcony. The balcony was accessible from the dining room, bedroom, living room & kitchen! Our Denver friends commented that the hotel suite was larger
than their loft. It is somewhat dated in decor, but the bathroom is modern and spacious. We used the complimentary shuttle service and it
was great. It is in a perfect location in downtown Denver. We also enjoyed happy hour. Beware~the drinks are PRICEY even during happy hour and the complementary appetizers is just a plate of hummus (but very good). But that’s my only negative point; I would highly recommend the hotel!

I booked the hotel and after reding the reviews I was scared. We had a Denver Suite and it was on the 12th floor the view was really nice from the living we had a great view of the city and from the room a great view of the mountains. Yeah the decor wasn't amazing but it was for a 3.5 start hotel and for the price paid was way above my expectations. The bedding was really nice. I go to Denver once a month atleast and I usually stay at the Hyatt Regency but this time they didn't had avilibility for all my stay. I've been in many hotels in downtown Denver and I really like this one I would stay here again.

My partner and I booked the Burnsley as an inexpensive option for a one night stay in Denver which was at the tail end of a larger vacation in Colorado. We were getting a $99 rate. We looked at the website and thought the hotel looked nice and we like the fact that parking was included as well as wireless. We just needed something simple since we would be there only one night and wanted to be downtown. When we arrived at the hotel, the Front Desk Host was in the back office on what seem to be a personal call. She rolled back her chair after realizing someone was at the desk, and held up her finger to signal "just a moment." Both of us were shocked when we came off the elevator (4th floor). The hallways were very narrow and dark and the smell of old dust and smoke hit you like a ton of bricks. We entered the room and the same smell hit us. The fact that the room was very large does not make up for what we though it was filthy. The comforter (which we would never use anyway) was stained yellow and we noticed four hairs on the sheets immediately upon pulling back the comforter. The bathroom sink was chipped. The showerhead seemed broken. We found rust and mold in the tub. The one chair in this massive room had stains on it as well. Needless to say, within 20 minutes of inspecting the room some more, we went to the front desk and asked if we could check out. Doing nothing to try to keep us there, they just said, there will be no charge and sent us on our way. Because they didn't even try anything, I gather they get this kind of comment quite frequently.
We moved hotels just up the street to the Warwick and they were able to give us the same rate (better than letting the room go empty), but we would have paid far more just to get out of the Burnsley. I don't make it to Denver that often but do have friends that are there on business quite often and I will never refer people to this hotel - not even as a last resort.
