I booked a non-smoking room but was placed in a smoking room two nights in a row (they were full and could not move me). The room smelled like stale smoke- it hits you as you get off of the elevator. Keep in mind the 5th and 6th floors also allow pets.

I read the upper suites have been remodeled. My floor (5) was not. The carpet (in the suite and on the balcony) was stained.

There are good things about the hotel. The bed was comfortable, the views were amazing and you have a private balcony. Breafast was good and parking is free.

Just stayed on the 13th floor in a one bedroom suite, nice balcony, very roomy space and quiet at night. Definitely has tattered edges: sofa bed in LR was broken, the AC in the
BR was very noisy; carpet on balcony was stained with I don't want to know what. Hotel staff was very accomodating in bringing a rollaway bed and would send engineer to fix AC if we asked. Highlights included good kitchen, great mt views, free parking, great location...can walk to some good restaaurants, a jazz club,; free high speed Internet access; very good bed in BR. and a nice amount of space. We paid 179 a night and think we did fine...but it is definitely more a two star hotel...

Our family of four really wanted to stay at this hotel. However, while attempting to make a reservation we concluded that hotel policy is not very family friendly. In this "all suite hotel" there is no guarantee that you can book a suite that has sleeping accommodations in two separate rooms for the parents and the children. The Capitol suite with two queens in one room is the only accommodation that guarantees that you can sleep up to four people. The Colorado suite (and presumably, the Denver suite) have sofa sleepers in only some suites--not all--available on a first come/first serve basis. As the person at reservations explained to me, you cannot book a suite and guarantee a sleeper. Prior guests in a room with the sleeper who wish to extend their stay have first priority. You may arrive and find that you are out of luck. This person explained to me that their emphasis is on the business traveler, not on families. She admitted that her job would be alot easier if the hotel management equipped all the Colorado and Denver suites with the sofa sleeper. She claimed that the concession to families is the pool. Oh, boy! If you don't want to sleep in the same room with your children, I'll bet that the furniture at poolside reclines to make an adventurous, if not very private, overnight stay at the Burnsley. But check with the reservation desk first to see if it is available on a first come/first serve basis!

Selected a 3 1/2 Star "Boutique Hotel" through Hotwire for $130 dollars plus fees and taxes. Hotel turned out to be the Burnsley. I had heard good things about this hotel in the past so I was looking forward to our stay. Wrong! First I found out that Hotwire wasn't a deal at all. The hotel's website showed the same room for $138 which meant we weren't saving anything because of Hotwire fees. Next the room turned out to be poorly decorated and worn. Bathroom was tiny and had problems - see pictures. I've seen Motel 6 rooms that had more style.

Could be that the suites on the upper floors were much better. But why introduce a new customer coming in through Hotwire by giving them a crummy room?

Good things about the hotel: free parking (should be since few people are staying there), kitchen with refrigerator (could be good for a long business stay), free van to downtown.

Lessons learned: 1. Don't use Hotwire 2. Don't stay at the Burnsley unless you can make a deal for a long term stay.

I stayed at The Burnsley Hotel and was very disappointed. The hotel is old, much different from the pictures on the website. I was charged 75 for a cleaning fee! I personally cleaned the suite before I left. The hotel manager was rude and insisted I trashed the room. I was appaled by the outright lie!

Unhappy customer!
