We stayed at the Burnsley to attend a friend's party in Denver. It was the closest to the party, within walking distance. It is a nice-looking hotel with an impressive lobby and lounge. Unfortunately, the rooms themselves don't live up to the lobby.

The rooms are very large, old apartments by the looks of them. The linens were very nice. The bathroom fixtures, carpets and all walls were dated and worn. The hotel was very quiet for the weekend because it is mostly an extended-stay business traveler-style place.

The hotel allows pets. I only mention this because there was an incident in the elevator, we are hoping it was a dog that left the stinky deposit in there, but you never know...and it was very difficult to get around the hotel without the elevators, I would hate to be in there in case of a fire. To avoid the mess in the elevator we ended up walking down stairs, traversing a hallway and then down more stairs and out to the back side of the hotel. It took a long time to figure out where to go. What if we were in a panic?

Also, there is tight security on the parking lot, giving the impression that the neighborhood isn't safe. Is it? We walked all around at night, late at night and never had any problems.

“Don't honor their confirmed reservation rate.”

Booked 3 nights at this hotel and received an email confirmation of the rate. At checkout the clerk insisted that the rate was $30 higher and would not honor the email confirmed rate. I sent a followup email asking them to credit my charge card with an attached confirmation to the management and they did not reply. Have sent a second email and heard nothing and am going to now file a protest with my charge card.

I liked the hotel but if you can't trust the rate guaranteed, it is not worth it.

I have stayed at the Burnsley four times. It is a great affordable option for government travelers. It is just a few blocks from the Capitol. The staff is the nicest I have ever encountered at any hotel and I travel a lot and stay in lots of hotels. They have a very convenient shuttle with a very nice driver. Parking is free and the free breakfast is great. My only issues this stay were that the carpet in my room was filthy and the wireless internet never worked. The wired internet worked no problem. My room seemed pretty beat up, scuffed furniture, torn wallpaper...etc. It needed a bit of an update. The rest of the room was very clean. I will continue to stay at the Burnsley when I travel for business.

We live in town (out in suburbia) and searched and searched all the downtown Denver hotels for the weekend PrideFest in Civic Center.

The hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Reading some other reviews we found any complaints to be undeserved. Yes, the furnishings were a bit dated but they did not detract from our stay in anyway whatsover. The lobby and mezzanine level were very modern and classy. The staff was superb. Internet availability, complimentary shuttle service, free parking, a large living room, kitchen and separate bedroom for a reasonable rate simply cannot be beat!!!

In addition there are lots of other advantages. The location is great, the large balcony with a fabulous view of downtown and the mountains was spectacular and being right next to Charlie Brown's restaurant were all added bonuses!!!

We'll be attending a wedding downtown in August and there is no doubt as to where we will be staying for that event and any other times we need a hotel in downtown Denver.

Kudos to the Burnsley!! Definitely worth every penny.

I searched for weeks looking for a hotel close to downtown Denver with a sky line view, free parking and free internet. I thought these expectations wouldn't be a problem, but it indeed was. I stumbled across the Burnsley and noticed it offered everything I was looking for, but I was cautious after reading some of the reviews. I booked a room anyway and was given a corner room on the 6th floor that offered a view of the mountains and the the city. I am very impressed with this hotel. Sure, the furniture is a little outdated but you are literally in an apartment! I will stay here everytime I come for the price and the location. After we arrived we went down to the lobby and asked for a shuttle to downtown. Not only did we get a ride but the man who was driving us actually gave us tips on attractions to see. The drive was very short and could definitely be walked. I can not say enough good about this place. I will say though, that they can keep the outdated furniture as long as they keep the free parking, free internet, and price low. The balconies are spacious and amazing! I highly recommend this place!
