We stayed at the Brown Palace for a bried, romantic getaway during the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were impressed with the overall service, quality, appearance and location of the hotel. We are particularly interested in hotels with a history, and the clerk who checked us in did not fail to fill us in on some of the history surrounding the Brown Palace. In addition, she informed me that we were being upgraded to a suite because it was our first stay there. How wonderful! Everything from the valet service upon arrival, including the check in experience, our initial impression upon entering our room, the view from our room, the decor of the hotel, and restaurants was quite exceptional. We started with a quick tour around the hotel to look at the art and decor, which is representative of the period it was constructed in, and then we visited the Ship Tavern for drinks, and went across the street to the Trinity Grille for dinner. We finished the evening with a nice stroll down 16th Street Mall which was in close proximity and nicely decorated for the holidays. Another point of interest is that Brown Palace is now part of the Marriott Autograph collection. I didn't know this until we booked our reservation, but I was pleased to earn the points for our stay! Thank you Marriott for a lovely night. We will definitely be back.
