The Brown Palace never fails to impress me. It is an historic landmark and surpasses all Denver hotels in stately ambiance. The hotel has rich woods, leather and oriental carpets throughout. The staff is extremely cordial albeit a bit formal but it suits the hotel.

The rooms are elegantly decorated in a rich traditional style. The standard guest rooms tend to be small, unless you get a corner room but extreme comfort compensates for the size. The rooms are filled with elegant fabrics and pillows, the comforters are fluffy down and the the robes are absolutely decadent!

All the hotel restaurants are highly acclaimed but I have to mention the unbelievable brunch at Ellington's!!! This is a splurge to strongly consider if you have time to enjoy the live music, carved roast beef, smoked salmon, eggs benedict, tempting pastries and more on a Sunday.

Overall, the hotel provides a pampered experience at a fair price! Be sure to check the hotel's website for specials and packages. They often have great spa specials or bed and breakfast deals. ENJOY!

  • Liked — Rich history and decadent pampering!
  • Disliked — Just a little off the beaten path.

What decent hotel would allow a bunch of drunken idiots to keep their guests awake all night? On Saturday night, a party was completely out of control. People were yelling and screaming from midnight to 4 am, and the sound echoed throughout the atrium style building. I called the front desk at 2 am, and the girl said secuity had been called, promising things would quiet down. Well the noise continued off-and-on until 4 am. Why didn't they just kick them out? In addition, they don't adequately process Expedia reservations. Upon arrival, they could not find both our reservations, so they looked at my 90-year-old mother and glibbly told her they didn't have her reservation and the hotel was full. How tacky to upset her like that! Of course I produced the printed confirmation and they eventually gave us the room. Unfortunately, they treat their guests like dirt. I can't wait until the Ritz Carlton opens in Denver!

I stayed at the brown over labor day weekend with my family and then returned to the spa in late september. both experiences were nothing short of fabulous. the historic hotel is beautiful and unique. the cigar bar is very neat. the spa is one of a kind. i enjoyed a facial, and i can honestly say i haven't been that relaxed in quite some time. i will most definitely be returning to the brown and recommending it to friends.

We just moved to the Denver area 6 weeks prior to my visit to the Brown palace spa. My best friend of thirty years flew in to Denver for her first visit with us. We ended our girls only day of shopping, talking, laughing, and eating in great restaurants with a couples swedish massage at The Brown Palace spa. From the minute we walked through the spa doors we were enveloped with a sense of calm, serenity, and comfort. Every staff member we encountered was exemplary. We wrapped ourselves in thick comfy robes, enjoyed tea, fresh fruit and snacks. Soon we were escorted through the beautifully appointed spa to the most oppulent tuscan inspired massage room. Our massage therapists were so wonderful! We wil go back time and time again and it will always be a destination that we will bring our out of town guests to experience.

  • Liked — The oppulence of the spa, spa staff, massage service.
