Expect to get what you pay for.

Pros:

The hotel is easy to get to from the airport and close to many restaurants and stores. You get a 15% discount at the tasty La Mariposa restaurant next door. The rooms were kept clean, and have TV, wifi, iron, ironing board, etc... The continental breakfast is decent... but get there early or you will miss out on the good stuff. The waffle iron is a cool idea, but the waffles taste weird, and you need to use a lot of cooking spray or it will stick. The glazed donuts were very tasty. The lobby is nicer than I expected. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Free work-out room. Laundry room.

Cons:

Be realistic, you are getting what you are paying for. For $46/night, don't expect much more than a place to sleep. The neighborhood behind the hotel is a bit scary, but it is not compton (although I felt like it when I was walking through wal-mart). The hotel is old, so expect weird smells, loose towel racks, peeling paint, etc. We didn't have any mold or paint peeling off the walls in our room, but the patch work was obvious... but who really cares at that price? The door key stopped working after 2 days.. that sounds like it happens to everyone. The road out front is busy, so hopefully you get one in the back and not next to the laundry. Our room was near the back on the left, 2nd floor, and was pretty quiet. The thermostat only turns the AC/Heat (depending on the season... and you only get one "choice") on or off.... We were there at a strange time when one day they needed the AC, and the next they needed the heat. Only one ice machine for the first two floors... so it was a long trip to go get ice.

Overall, I'd recommend it at that price and if you can't get into the near-by hotels.

We had no choice on the hotel as headquarters made it for the 35 of us. The bed was hard. No ESPN on the TV. The tub was very slippery and no rubber mat to put down. Minimal number of towels and hard. The room key stops working after 2 days. The breakfast is a continental with make yourself waffles. No fruit as stated in a previous review. The a/c is loud but did cool the room. Computer chair in the room with a desk and wifi in the lobby and room.

This hotel was our first stop after arriving in Denver from the UK so we were not happy to find that they did not have our reservation. Despite our having the confirmation details of our pre-paid booking made via Travelocity the receptionist would not give us a room. She telephoned Travelocity for us and initially they said they would fax the confirmation through. However after waiting and waiting with no fax appearing the receptionist rang them a second time only for Travelocity to deny any knowledge of either the request for a fax or the booking itself. At this point being exhausted we had little choice but to hand over our credit card for a room. During the time we spent waiting which was well over an hour numerous people came to the front desk requesting either new room keys as theirs did not work, face cloths as none had been supplied or more toilet tissue as it had not been replenished by the maid. When we did finally get a room it was acceptable, quite old, but clean. The following morning the much more efficient day receptionist immediately found our booking which had been entered by the hotel on the wrong date! Why this could not have been found the night before I do not know. The free continental breakfast was reasonable but choice was a little limited. We would not stay at this hotel again.

We only stayed here one night on our venture to Las Vegas from Kansas City -- I booked the hotel well in advance through Hotels-- No problems w/ checking in. But the place is a complete dump! The pictures are in NO WAY a true representation of the hotel. I had read some reviews about how they renovated this place recently.... maybe only the entrance, which was not all that great anyway! The room we got was TINY, smelled of smoke (requested non-smoking, but not for sure what we actually got). I would NOT recommend this hotel... for the price I suggest finding a chain hotel, such as Holiday Inn Express..etc.

The location, however, is not bad (spotty, but not bad) -- there is all kinds of neat businesses going up near up, but the neighborhood behind it kind of scared me.

I can't say much else about it because we got into town around 6:00 pm, ate dinner, and slept! We had a LONG trip the next day to Vegas, so we left @ like 7:00 am.

Oh, the breakfast "waffle bar" was gross! Stick w/ cereal & milk if you *must* stay here.

I spent 5 nights at this Denver hotel this past week and can not tell you how disappointed I was. We all were. The rooms smelled horrible, the desk help couldn't care less about our concerns; leaking tub, no coffee pot, lack of toilet paper, room keys only worked for two days at a time, horrible coffee and only 12 bananas each morning for the entire hotel at the breakfast, fire alarms going off, excuses made for not giving us a roll away bed. I only had one other stay that was worse ... that was a Motel 6 in Ogden, UT. I promise you, I plan on finding websites that rate hotels, so I can have the chance to tell everyone considering staying at a Guest House, to NOT, under any circumstance. I wouldn't advise anyone staying there for any price.
