Expect to get what you pay for.
Pros:
The hotel is easy to get to from the airport and close to many restaurants and stores. You get a 15% discount at the tasty La Mariposa restaurant next door. The rooms were kept clean, and have TV, wifi, iron, ironing board, etc... The continental breakfast is decent... but get there early or you will miss out on the good stuff. The waffle iron is a cool idea, but the waffles taste weird, and you need to use a lot of cooking spray or it will stick. The glazed donuts were very tasty. The lobby is nicer than I expected. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Free work-out room. Laundry room.
Cons:
Be realistic, you are getting what you are paying for. For $46/night, don't expect much more than a place to sleep. The neighborhood behind the hotel is a bit scary, but it is not compton (although I felt like it when I was walking through wal-mart). The hotel is old, so expect weird smells, loose towel racks, peeling paint, etc. We didn't have any mold or paint peeling off the walls in our room, but the patch work was obvious... but who really cares at that price? The door key stopped working after 2 days.. that sounds like it happens to everyone. The road out front is busy, so hopefully you get one in the back and not next to the laundry. Our room was near the back on the left, 2nd floor, and was pretty quiet. The thermostat only turns the AC/Heat (depending on the season... and you only get one "choice") on or off.... We were there at a strange time when one day they needed the AC, and the next they needed the heat. Only one ice machine for the first two floors... so it was a long trip to go get ice.
Overall, I'd recommend it at that price and if you can't get into the near-by hotels.
