“Nice place - good location”

Radisson Denver Stapleton Plaza

Jun 3, 2008

I stayed at this hotel from 5/28 to 6/1 and found it very nice and accomodating. The location was very close to downtown and Boulder and right across the way are two plazas with everything you could imagaine, with one exception - no liquor store. There is a walmart and a ton of restaurants and fast food places along with a variety of other things. The rooms were nice and comfortable; the bed was great; the bar is nice and the restaurant was very good for breakfast in the morning. I cannot find anything to complain about especially for the going rate at this hotel. All the staff were very nice and pleasant. The only thing I could say is that the pool wasn't open and the air conditioning in the main lobby could be turned up but i am always warm so that is not a valid complaint. The jacuzzi and work out area was available which was fine by me. The pool being closed did not bother me at all. There is also a nice waiting area in the lobby with couches and chairs, an ATM, and a computer to use. I would stay here again no question on my next trip to Denver.

We visited this property back in December and came back to stay during the early part of May/08. We were impressed by the changes that were made between then and now. There is still a renovation going on in the poublic areas but the room we stayed in had been redone and featured the new adjustable beds. The staff was friendly and the food was good. In all we had a plesant stay.

Due to a missed connection at the Denver Airport, we wound up at this Radisson for a night's stay. The property is "mature" but well-maintained and not run down. All the staff we dealt with were polite and professional.

On the Sunday night we were there, the place was quiet - no noisy guests, no loud music. Given the open atrium design, any noisy activities in the lobby or restaurant would have carried throughout the building. Note - if you are uneasy with heights, the glass elevator and the open hallways facing the open lobby down below will make you a bit anxious.

The room we stayed in was of ample size and clean, and everything worked as it should. The rooms have little private patios that are accessable through a glass sliding door. The wireless internet service worked very well, at least for us on the fifth floor

Many of the rooms come with Select Comfort air mattresses, including the room we were given. If you are a fan of these mattresses, you will sleep very well. I got the best night's sleep I'd ever had in a hotel... so much so we slept through breakfast. Probably just as well; we were told the breakfast buffet was $9.95 per person.

The airport shuttle runs every half hour, and takes about 25 minutes to make the trip (depending on traffic).

This hotel may lack "pizzaz" but if you want a safe bet for a good quiet stay, you can't go wrong here.

“Nice facilities, mediocre service”

Radisson Denver Stapleton Plaza

Mar 25, 2008

I stayed at the Radisson for two nights over the Easter weekend. I was pleased to see that they recently updated the lobby, restaurant, lounge, meeting rooms and sleeping rooms. The physical property and sleeping room was great.... a very good deal for the money. Unfortunately the service was slow and indifferent. The staff needs training in how to smile and say "yes." I called down to the front desk one morning at 5:30 AM to ask if they could wait to vacuum the hallway outside my door until a more pleasant hour. The answer was, "There is nothing I can do." Service in the restaurant and lounge was slow and grumpy even though the hotel was practically empty.

“Plenty of hot water, but not a drop of cold”

This is an okay hotel, but I don't know why you'd end up in this location unless you were here for a business meeting. The airport has moved, so there is nothing here.

Major problems:
- The railings inside, around the atrium, go all the way up to the 11th floor. They seem to be set up for climbing and jumping over. The railings on the balconies are the same. If you have children, I would not stay here for this reason. It was kind of frightening to be near the railings, as they hit right at your center of gravity and make you feel as if you're about to topple 11 stories to your death.

- The rooms have scalding hot water coming out of the tap, no matter what setting you use. There is no cold water tap. I'm not joking. This was a common complaint from others in my group.
