After reading some of the other reviews, it seems like many people give a hotel a poor rating based on factors outside of the hotel's control. In this case, there's one factor working against the hotel- horrible construction along the entire I-25 corridor in Denver. This isn't just in Denver, we stayed in Colorado Springs for almost a week and the entire roadway through town is being redone. If the construction was a factor I would have given the hotel one star-- but this is about the hotel, not factors outside their control.
We had one night in Denver, and had a terrific stay at this hotel after obtaining a great price on hotwire. The room was a King and the bed was by far the nicest I've slept in in a great while. The room was very nice-looking with a couch and sitting area in addition to the desk with internet access. Our room was 7th floor with a pool view. There are 2 pools, one indoor, and while we didn't have a chance to use them they were very nice looking with a large outdoor patio. The hotel has many amenities such as laundry, workout, and a huge restaurant and a nice little starbucks-esque coffee shop during the day and afternoon. We were treated respectfully by hotel staff and check in-out was lightning quick.
During our stay we visisted the Downtown Aquarium and huge REI outdoors store, and ate at Casa Bonita-- if you only have one afternoon, not a bad way to spend it. If you go to the aquarium after 6 PM there is a cut in the price of entry. I LOVED the aquarium as the exhibits were so creative, bright, shiny and new, and who would not be thrilled by the three Sumatran tigers they have also??
Parking at the hotel was never an issue, we found a spot right outside the front door and there's also a huge parking garage attached. In all I felt like we had fabulous value for our money-- probably paid a third of regular rack rate due to hotwire savings. The one "complaint" about the room would be that its bathroom was WAY too small. No way more than 1 person could fit at a time. Tub was a little on the small side. But who sleeps in the bathroom? The great bed put all other issues to rest.... literally. Just be warned about the construction if you visit Denver anytime soon. Still, it is a beautiful city.
