There's lots of competition in the Denver hotel market, so I'm not sure why you'd choose this one. Of course, like me, you might not have chosen it -- you're likely to get this property if you bid on priceline for a 3 star hotel in this part of town.

This is an older property showing its age, but with reasonably up-to-date amenities. Beds are nice, as per the chain's requirements. Pool area is better-than-expected. Rooms are smaller than average. Published prices seem high for what you get. I wouldn't want to be paying much more than $60/night for a room here -- and you can get it for less on priceline. Otherwise, there's much better value elsewhere.

We stayed here for a combination business/leisure trip booked via Priceline. I tend to be a very forgiving reviewer that mostly ends up in the 2 to 3 star category. Here are the plusses and minuses we experienced on our 3-day stay

Can be a long walk to your room...very long, depending on placement
Elevators have problems. Doors get stuck, may take a long time, etc
Room smelled a bit musty on arrival
Room decor and layout is decidedly outdated (as mentioned elsewhere)
Adjacent hotel seems to be abandoned
hot tub temperature not so hot
shower temperature - on HOTTEST setting - still just lukewarm
corridors and rooms are very dark and somewhat depressing
bathroom is cramped

Based on our price, we were satisfied with the hotel and count it average in most respects. But we would definitely not seek this hotel out to return to.

My family of four stayed at this hotel from 3-20-09 to 3-23-09. We had two adjoining rooms on the tenth floor. I picked this hotel because it was a good value using my Starwood Preferred Guest points. It is right next to the I-25 freeway and there are lots of resturants nearby. I did not have any of the problems that I read about in other reviews. That being said, the rooms are small and we did hear some road noise from the freeway. The king bed in our room was great and I slept well. I did not hear any noise form other guests. The rooms were clean and everything worked. You get free wired internet in your room, but there is no business center and I had to e-mail the front desk to print a document. The staff was great. Overall the property seems like it needs a redo, but I found out this hotel will be closing at the end of 2009 and the property will become a board and care facility. So don't expect anything to be refurbished. It is what it is and it served our purpose.

I tend to be very forgiving of a hotel's flaws -- and my typically-glowing reviews reflect that. But my patience snapped with the Sheraton Four Points Denver. Based on reading other Tripadvisor reviews, I was already prepared for the 1970's decor and less-than-favorable clientele. However, I was truly disappointed with the attitude of the staff.

In my case, the elevators suddenly stopped working just when I was about to check out. I was rushing to catch a flight and had lots of luggage. When I called the front desk, the staff gave me a "not our problem" response and told me to just take the stairs.

It was this genuine lack of concern that bothered me. Not that I'm opposed to taking the stairs, and I understand that elevator problems happen, but I would have appreciated if the staff had been more apologetic.

The only consolation is that I was staying here on points. Had I paid for the stay out of my own pocket -- which I would never consider doing -- I would have been quite outraged. With so many other great places to stay in Denver, I strongly urge my fellow budget travellers to look elsewhere!
