I stayed at the Marriott City Center with a convention that was hosted there in mid-September. It was everything I have come to expect from a Marriott hotel, and I was very pleased with my stay. The rooms are modern and clean, with excellent beds. Wi-fi is available for a fee. The room service was tasty, as were the meals provided by their banquet facilities. It was my first trip to Denver, and the location was very central -- close enough to walk back from Coors Field. I'm already planning to stay there again for a return trip with my fiancee.

I usually stay at the Westin in downtown Denver but wanted to get Marriott points so I stayed here for this business trip and was not disappointed. The hotel is updated, pristine, very business like, has a great concierge level and updated rooms.

It is in the heart of downtown Denver and an easy walk to tourist spots as well. I stayed here two nights in a corner, oversized room and would definitely stay here again when in Denver.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in August on a business-related trip. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It is modern so it lacks the character and charm of some of the other hotels in Denver but it is a very nice hotel. Its location is a moderate walk to the Rockies baseball stadium and the historic district in Denver. It is a short walk to the pedestrian mall. I would recommend this hotel but not for hosting a meeting or seminar. I felt the accommodations for a seminar I attended were very poor. The room was so cramped that some attendees did not even have a table at which to sit.

Got a decent rate on expedia for this hotel. I called a few days beforehand to confirm my reservation, and boy was I glad I did, as the hotel had CANCELLED MY RESERVATION even though I had paid in full in advance. Had to call expedia and the hotel repeatedly before finally getting confirmation that we were good to go. And my friend had called in advance about parking and got the runaround. So needless to we were a bit worried about staying here...

But, once we got there, all was fine. The lobby and hallways are hideously ugly, but our room was nice (if a bit small) and very clean. The bathroom was well-stocked with nice towels and high-quality toiletries. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows. There was an iron, a hairdryer, good closet space, full-length mirrors, and the a/c worked great. And there's a Starbucks in the lobby. The restaurant looked scary though, so we didn't try it.

Our first night there we were walking around and decided we wanted to eat at a certain restaurant we'd read about, but couldn't remember where it was, so we stopped into the Adams Mark to get directions. The concierge there made reservations for us, and gave us a coupon for free appetizers, and was extremely nice, even though he knew we weren't staying there. Now that's service! So that's where I'd stay next time.

The concierge at the Marriott always seemed to be "away", though one did help us with finding out times for the SkyRide shuttle bus back to the airport. And the guys outside were always helpful with getting us cabs for going to clubs/bars at night.

All in all we were satisfied, but would probably stay somewhere else next time.

  • Liked — Nice bed, clean bathroom, proximity to good restaurants and 16th Street Mall.
  • Disliked — In-hotel dining options, unattractive lobby and hallways
  • Tips/Secrets: — Call to confirm reservation a few days in advance!

The Denver Marriott lives up to the Marriott name with clean rooms that are slightly larger than what you would expect from a typical chain hotel. The Business Center is outrageously priced, but just across the street is a Kinkos with good service that offers more options than the on-site business center.

The hotel is close to the convention center, but certainly not the closest or newest hotel. I enjoyed the quick one-block walk to the sixteenth Street Mall where I was able to walk and do some shopping in between convention appointments.

I'd recommend not eating at the restaurant on the lower level of the hotel. The food was okay, but the restaurant itself is poorly lit. The waitress even served me an individual portion of jelly that I discovered had already been opened and was half empty.

There is a Starbucks located on the main level of the hotel which was only open until 3:00 p.m., which surprised me since the entire hotel was sold-out, and it seems like there might be a need for evening coffee.

Overall, very happy with the Marriott itself, and the staff was service-minded and very helpful whenever needed.
