After doing quite a bit of research on downtown Denver hotels, I finally decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt after seeing many favorable reviews here and elsewhere. I couldn't have been happier. Rooms were clean and large and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff - everyone from the valet and bellhop to the bartender in the Fireside Lounge and the front desk clerks - couldn't have been nicer. I was pleaseantly surprised by the dining room and the quality of the food, which was far better than at most hotels. The bar in the dining room area, however, is really small and has no atmosphere. But the Fireside Lounge is a lovely area with soft, cushy sofas and I have to agree with the other poster that the pianist in the lounge is excellent. Plus he plays your requests. Nothing better than sipping a martini and listening to a fab pianist playing Dean Martin and Sinatra. Loved the great downtown location, which is close to several attractions, shops, bars, and restaurants.
