Paid for the upgraded room and got to the hotel to find the room very small. This hotel charges anything they can think of. $10.00 to park at the hotel. Was told my room included two free breakfasts. Instead charged $17.50 for each of us and charged our 9 year old daughter as an adult for breakfast. After $80.00 in extra charges and them not wanting to fix it I will never stay at another Hyatt EVER!

Room Tip: Watch the extra charges

Maybe it's just me, it's nice and all, but it's nothing special over your Marriot or Holiday Inn, at least they come with free internet and breakfast and decent tv reception. I would expect a WHOLE lot more for the cost you get here, and not just the superficial name.

This place is so nice since the recent remodel. Great modern rooms with automatic night lights, windows that open for outside air. Outdoor sky track to jog outside above the city. Great location, restaurants are all within walking distance. I've stayed there before the remodel and what a difference. Hope I get to go back!

This hotel is crisp, comfortable, modern luxury. There are lots of little touches that make this Hyatt stand out from the crowd. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful - asking, for example, without prompting whether I wanted late checkout (I did). My room had small, automatic night lights (so that you don't have to turn on the bedside or overhead light when you need to get up in the night), a no-touch key access system (both for the elevator and for my room), and lots of outlets. For frequent travelers, these things make a big difference.

My corner suite was oversized and spacious. Since I was working in my room, as well as wanting to relax inside for a bit, the two big rooms and two big TVs was very much appreciated. There was a refrigerator, but no freezer compartment. A breakfast bar (with four stools) inside my room worked well for a quick start to the day (eg. yogurt and juice from the nearby 7-11), as well as for pizza to be delivered and consumed. The bathroom was well appointed, although the toilet was crammed up against the wall (since the stairwell took out the corner of the bathroom). The bed was super comfortable and the linens of a very high quality. With a corner suite, the bedroom is well separated from the entrance/hallway (which has signs noting a noise problem) and so very quiet.

The foyer is welcoming and cozy, with a musician playing to a bustling crowd on Friday night at the Fireside bar. There is an onsite Starbucks, although it is not a corporate store so doesn't honor all status/offers. I was 'upsold' access to the Concierge Lounge for $75 extra a day, which I didn't feel would be good value.

The internet is quite slow, although for an extra charge higher speeds are available. I don't understand why they throttle the basic wireless service, and I couldn't figure out how to get the wired connection to work.

Room Tip: Corner suites are great value (eg. 1501, 1502, 1601, 1602, etc.)

I and my wife were in town for a wedding, and a first timer in Denver for a long weekend. Service is really what you would expect of a quality downtown hotel. Rooms were large and workout areas clean and more than adequate with an outdoor track. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast which exceeded my expectations. The hotel bar restaurant was excellent with great bar food, and a surprisingly diverse menu for lunch. The wedding functions (Guest Reception, Formal Reception and Dinner, and Sunday Brunch) were all first class with a well oiled staff performing magnificently. The service, food and location within minutes of the downtown mall area could not have been better. And then, the hotel has a less than adequate
internet service (WIFI) and charges extra for the guest to use it. What was management thinking?

Spent 5 nights, during a conference. The entire staff was courteous, friendly and helpful, able to answer any question I'd have brought to a concierge. My good-sized room had two queen beds, a lounge chair and side table, desk, small fridge, and coffee-maker. The 24-hour fitness room has a moderate selection of machines and an inviting outdoor track (at 12 laps per mile, can grow repetitious fairly soon). This downtown hotel has outdoor seating on a balcony by the pool. Oddly, the lounge chairs look appealing, but once you stretch out, you face a brick wall.

The Hyatt, on a very bland strip of Welton, is less than two blocks from the popular 16th Street mall, with constant free shuttle buses, and a 10-15 minute walk from State Capital and Denver Art Museum. In our group's catered events as well as at Pub 17, the food was fairly good, and moderately priced for a hotel restaurant. At least four lobby computers and printer were always available for guests.

Two regrets: the irksome key system [which many of my colleagues groused about] requires rubbing it on elevator panel, room door, fitness entry at a specific angle to get in or move between floors. And the hotel totally lacks personality. Guest rooms, lobby, meeting rooms are all functional, non-descript, inoffensive, and utterly forgettable. At this tier of hotel, it's fun to see a little distinctiveness.

TIP: from airport, take Denver RTD bus, route AF, to Downtown. It goes to Market Street bus depot on 16 Street corridor. Hop on frequent free shuttle bus (low to the ground and luggage-friendly), about 1/2 mile to Welton, then walk 1.5 short blocks to Hyatt. The cost is $11 -- or $5.50 if you're over 65 and say "Senior fare" when you board the bus. The comfortable ride takes under an hour. www.rtd-denver.com/schedules

Room Tip: From the 19th floor, traffic noises were low. But when the wind kicked up, you definitely heard the...

Here for NONPF Annual Meeting (600+ NP Faculty) for 4 nights -- paid a little extra for the Concierge Floor -- well worth it!!! The Concierge Bar area is comfortable and nicely appointed, very nice breakfast, snacks and honor bar -- non-ETOH drinks available on day -- computer and printing station as well! Workout room small but nicely done -- small pool with outdoor patio. Great place to relax with friends and the bar in the lobby is lovely as well. The staff is excellent -- particularly Bill (night manager), Peyton (reception), Brian (manager) and Abel (the poor guy from facilities who I inadvertently caused trouble for -- I'm so sorry!!!!!). Seriously, large, absolutely beautiful, comfortable room (get a King room on the 25th floor), great location and excellent staff. i would recommend this to anyone coming to Denver!!! Thanks so much for everything!

Room Tip: Floor 25 or 26 -- ask for a King Room and it's really spacious -- go for an odd number, though...
