Stayed five days for a professional conference. Though not super-luxurious, the hotel was just fine for this purpose. The decor is understated and well-kept, rooms were kept very clean, and the staff was universally helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the bathroom toiletries in "citrus/lavender" scent. Our room had a huge wide-screen TV. We had one room-service breakfast and my roommate had one room-service dinner; both were good and well presented. The restaurant, called "1876", has a breakfast and lunch buffet. The choices were many and well-prepared; a good value for the cost, I felt. There is an airline kiosk at the reception desk where you can check in to your flight and get a boarding pass; the airport shuttles make frequent stops.

My husband and I spent three evenings at the Grand Hyatt while we were in town for a wedding. We had a mid-floor room that was spacious (not huge, but certainly large enough), the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. My only complaint, as others have pointed out, were the well-worn towels. We spent a fair amount of time in the lobby bar (Fireside Lounge) and while the cocktails were on the steep side, the pianist who plays in the lobby is world-class. We really enjoyed his music, he played all of our requests and had a lovely disposition. A class-act. As for proximity, you can't beat the location, right off the 16th street mall, which is chock-block with shops, restaurants, bars and theaters. Valet parking is expensive ($26), but the valets were very courteous and speedy when it came to retrieving our car. We'd definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt to attend a conference. I had to call the Hyatt Reservation line in order to get the special conference rate ($199/night...good thing my company was paying the bill!). Reservation agent was friendly, the process was painless, and they emailed me a confirmation.

I used the SuperShuttle from the airport, purchasing a roundtrip ticket at the airport reservation desk for $34. It was really convenient, and in spite of arriving during the Denver rush hour, I was at the hotel in about half an hour.

All of the Hyatt staff that I encountered during my trip were very friendly, especially the check-in staff, porter and concierge. When I decided to stay over a couple of days at the end of my conference, the desk person was able to give me an internet rate I had found for the weekend.

The room was very tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. The bathroom looked like it had new fixtures, and there was a phone next to the toilet (if you need to be that accessible!). One thing that made the room special was the iHome clock radio...it has a dock where your iPod can be attached and played, and you can wake to music from your iPod.

The only disappointment was the inconsistency of housekeeping. Please don't misunderstand: the room was cleaned, bed made, and new towels left, but there was always something missed each day. One day, they didn't empty the trash, the next day they left a used towel draped over the toilet tank. One evening I filled out the room-service breakfast menu that you hang on the door, and a replacement was never left during the remainder of my stay. And I don't know if there's a term for it in the hotel industry, but I'm used to housekeeping coming in and opening the curtains and putting things back in place (sort of re-setting the stage, if you will), and this was never done. This lack of attention to detail, especially at the level of a Hyatt, stood out as a glaring error in an otherwise flawless stay.

Despite this issue, I would still recommend the Grand Hyatt Denver. Its friendly staff, its comfortable rooms, and its central location -- less than two blocks from the 16th Street Mall with shopping, dining and entertainment, and an easy walk to the Denver Art Museum and other downtown landmarks -- makes it an ideal place to stay in Denver.

My husband and I were celebrating our ten year anniversay and decided to stay a night at the Hyatt.
The front desk staff were amazing - Patrick really took care of us and put us in a corner room that was amazingly quiet! I have never stayed in a hotel before where I did not hear a lot of noise!
The beds were awesome and I actually slept the whole night and woke up feeling refreshed, which again is unusual for most hotel beds!
Patrick, the front desk clerk, surprised us again with a bottle of champagne, and a cheese tray as a little happy anniversary gift.

WOW, that was cool.

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We would recommend it to anyone.

Overall the hotel was great. The rooms were very clean, which is most important to me. The beds were comfortable, however; the sheets were bad. They were not soft and were so stiff that it felt and sounded like a brown paper bag!!!! Bring your own sheets! Every staff person at the hotel that we encountered were unbelievably friendly and helpful, which is the way it is supposed to be. We stayed four nights at this hotel and would go back again. We had a nice corner room, which was bigger than their regular rooms. We had a king bed with enough room for a rollaway & portable crib. We had a good view of the mountains. Unfortunately, I did not get as good a rate as most people who wrote a previous review. I paid $211.00/per night through expedia and coupled with the $26.00/night parking fee was a bit pricey, but all hotels downtown charge the same rate for parking. Again, it was very clean which made for a comfortable stay for my family.

If you are in need of a rental car, stay away from Advantage Rental Car at the airport!!! I feel like they were not honest and tried to rip me off upon check in. Most of the people who worked their were foreigners and you barely could understand them because of their thick accents. I had already pd 163.00 through expedia and they tried to charge me $200.00 more!!!! They tried to charge me $61.00 for gas as a "customer appreciation" that way I didn't have to fill up when I brought it back and tried to upgrade my car for $20.00 more dollars a day. I had told him "no", but he swiped my card without telling me a total and when he asked me to sign it was a little over $200.00!!!! I was very irritated and made him refund it and charge me for taxes only, which came out to be $54.00 (big difference). Beware!!! Upon returning my rental car, they only had two shuttle busses running and we waited over twenty minutes for a shuttle bus, before I went in and complained. There were tons of other people waiting as well and we had gotten there in plenty of time for our flight, but now we were going on thrity minutes and I told them we were going to miss the 45 minute cutoff and so one guy got a car and drove us to the terminal. Don't take any chances and find another car rental place.
