Stayed 4 nights and loved the place. Close to all restaurants, shopping is one block away. Starbucks in building. Went to Rockies game and walked to Coors field. Attended concert at Red Rocks and the drive was super easy. Staff is very good. Check in went smooth. Get the valet parking for the $24.00 a night. Bell/Valet staff was very friendly and helpful. Night time cookies and milk were a hit with my family. It was also nice to sit in the leather reading chairs while eating cookies and reading the denver paper to unwind in the evening. Breakfast was minimal but very good with fruit, yogurt, granola, danish, cereal and juices. Not a full breakfast, but better than any other upscale hotels in downtown for free. It would be $5-10 a person for this breakfast at a hotel cafe. Rooms were large and clean. Bathroom is on the small side and could use more shelves for cosmetics and towel storage. Tub/shower is very large and had a great shower head. 2 queen beds in our room were very comfy. good tv channels. Excellent workout room, but bring your own headphones to listen to tv on workout equipment. 2 computers with internet connections were available for free use. Will be staying there again on next trip to Denver. Hotel had free wi-fi and a cool on site bar if you want an adult beverage.

We drove into Denver on Sunday, June 24th. We had been in Steamboat and Grand Junction for 8 days, and we had a flight out of Denver Airport on Monday. We did not have a reservation. The AAA rate was $199. The nice young man asked if we wanted to valet, then he mentioned it would be $24, so we parked the car ourselves. The room was beautiful, and well appointed with an ice tub, wine glasses and a wine opener. The beds were beautiful. The front desk recommended a good steakhouse, The Keg. The prime rib was just ok, but the filet was dynomite! The next morning our shower had a very loud squeal, when you pulled the tab from bath to shower..Ouch! Breakfast was drab...a step up from a Quality Inn continental, but with Wall Street Journals. When we checked out, we told them about the squeal, and we gave them out parking ticket, and it was then that they told us that the parking (in the same building) was under separate contract....It cost $27 parking for 1 day! I was told by the attendant that there was a sign (which I discovered on the way out...a small black sign below the place that you TAKE your ticket...so from your car, you cannot see it!) I probably would not stay here again.

Stayed at the Magnolia while in Denver for a conference. The hotel is lovely and my room was nice and clean.

The breakfast in the morning was very good and had lots of fresh fruit. However, the best part of the experience at the Magnolia is the warm cookies and milk at night. These were not just some cookies out of a box on put onto a plate but warm recently baked chocolate chip with peacan cookies (among other cookies).

The staff at the Magnolia was polite and helpful. The hotel was an easy walk to the convention center. The location right off the pedestrian mall was great for shopping and food. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are staying in Denver.

Magnificant deal at the Magnolia

For the price we paid on Expedia (approx. $100 including tax), this was a magnificant deal at a really nice hotel. If you are looking for a VERY convenient location to downtown Denver's 16th Street Mall and any of the other downtown venues - including Coors Field to catch a Rockies game - this is a perfect hotel for your trip. The 16th Street Mall is just steps outside your hotel and the free trolley/bus system can tak you virtually to any downtown cross-block in the Downtown Denver area including taking you down towards Union Station or to the streets that connect you to the LoDo/Coors Field area - - all for a Free ride that comes virtually every minute - or so it seems.
Besides the unbeatable location, the hotel itself is quite nice. Upon checking in (early -- we arrived around 11 am and they were more than happy to see if they could accomodate an early check-in and, even though did have a room available - they did confirm with us that it would be to our liking - e.g. the front desk representative had noted that on our reservation (although we don't recall this) that we had asked for a courtyard room (which she indicated could be quieter) that we were going to get a room that was not in the courtyard and has asked if we would be okay with that - this to me, is very courteous service). We ended up taking a different room - that did have a nice view of downtown and was in the corner. The room was clean and had was well-appointed - even featuring a magnolia (at least I asumme it was) flower in a vase. The bed was comfortable and the pillows even more so. Overall a very comfortable - restful sleep. The only bit of constructive feedback I would give is the following items: 1/ update the TV - LCD is more the norm than the rarity these days 2/ the room itself was very interesting - in that our walk in closet was so huge that I wondered if the space could have been used more strategically - e.g. more room between the door and the bed when you walk in -- you basically walk in the corner room and the bed hits you because the closet is so big you could fit half the bed in it.

Other nice touches - bathrooms are updated and shower/tub is huge! milk and cookies at night are a nice touch as well.

Overall - if you can get a rate under $200 for this place -- it's a steal and well worth it - I would be suprised if you would be disappointed.

Other things to check out in Denver Area -- Estes Park/Trail Ridge Road - - takes 3 hours to drive from Estes Park to Grand Lake - but it's one of the most amazing drives you'll ever drive!

I stay at hotels a lot on business travel and my organization organizes conventions a lot, so I know what a hotel is supposed to do and what it isn't supposed to do.

During my stay at The Magnolia, they got everything right.

They recommended I take a Super Shuttle to the hotel instead of a taxi beforehand. And they offered to take care of my luggage and gave me a way to get it to the airport without taking it into a banquet I was attending before leaving.

They put out milk and cookies at 8 -- but also made sure I knew when the bar opened (4 p.m.).

When I learned about the light rail right next to the hotel, I asked for a room away from it. No problem.

They offer free wireless Internet.

They held and retrieved packages for me.

They found a nail salon for me.

In short, they did what they were supposed to do, had good humor and were efficient about doing it.

I would definitely stay there again.

  • Liked — The cookies at milk at 8 p.m. are divine (they make them fresh!)
  • Disliked — Clang! Clang! Clang! goes the trolley. The light rail is right next to it and a station is down the block.
