What an absolutely fantastic time we had staying at the Magnolia. Great location, price and friendly staff made our stay in Denver highly enjoyable.

As typical of a down-town hotel, the room was not large, but was comfortable. The bathroom was large, and clean. Downstairs, the staff were friendly to a fault. The hotel offers a cheap happy hour in their own lounge, or you can pay a dollar more and spend all night drinking at the hotel's bar called Harry's. My favorite was the free milk and cookies offered between 8-10pm. It was plesant to sit downstairs watching the big screen TV after an exhausting day, having a cookie eating contest with my girlfriend.

The hotel is conveniently located. Around the corner is the light rail that can take you to Six Flags, if that's your thing. Also around the corner is the 16th Street Mall. A movie theater is not too far away. LoDo, Larimer Square and most of the downtown attractions are located nearby and are within walking distance.

Hint: If you are flying. Take the mall bus down to Market Street station and catch the AF bus to DIA. It costs $8, runs every 25minutes past the hour and takes about 30-40 minutes to get to the airport. It may take a little longer than a taxi or a share-a-ride, but works out a lot cheaper.

Hint2: Just a little further south of the Market Street station (past Union Station) is a river. Across the river is the largest REI I have ever encountered. Also in this area is the entrance to the Cherry Creek trail. The trail follows a river for several miles and is popular with the locals for biking, skating and walking.

Seeing from previous reviews that the strength of this hotel is its suites, that's what I booked and I wasn't disappointed. The accommodation was not in any way spectacular: furniture and decor were basic and lacked style. But the joy of not being confined to one cramped room cannot be overstated: the separate living room had sofa, armchair and dining table and there was even a small kitchen with cooker and fridge. The real strength of this hotel, though, was the extras thrown in. The included continental breakfast was more than adequate: cereals, bagels, toast, yogurt and fruit, as well as juice, teas and coffee. There's a happy hour in the evening, and later on they even lay on free cookies and milk, all in the same lower ground location next to a pleasant water feature. The hotel's location couldn't be more convenient: in one direction the 16th St Mall (much as that is overhyped), in another direction the LoDo brew pubs, a few blocks in another direction the restaurants and bars of Larimer Square, and just up from those, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. In none of these cases need you do anything but walk. Be careful with parking in the street: even at weekends it seems your car will be towed if it's still there at 2am. Overall this is a good place to stay: not a stunning bargain - for three nights our bill came to just over $500 - but you do feel that they're making an effort and that you're getting a lot for your money.

We had a great time @ The Magnolia hotel! We arrived early by about two hours and they let us check in to our suite. The pictures on the site are true to the suite we stayed in. The tub was wonderful to soak in after walking everywere and the whole place was spotless! The lobby and lounge were great! They even had a Happy HourBar set up downstairs which I think was free at certain times(don't forget to tip the bartender). The staff was very helpful in finding places to eat and enjoy the evening. The Magnolia was central to all the touristy stuff but also close to out of the ordinary shops and galleries. The Airport tram is within walking distance(about 8-10 blocks ot take the trolley/bus) but we got a private ride to the airport from the hotel door to the airport for about $50 and it took only 15-20 minutes w/no traffic.
The price for the suite is worth it for more than one night and we definately plan on staying there again!

We stayed at the Magnolia Hotel on December 22nd. It met our every expectation. The room (a suite) was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were the best! The cocktail hour was very relaxing and the hot cookies and milk at the end of the evening were great. If you are looking for a great restaurant in Denver try Rioja. It is great! This is the 3rd hotel that we have booked on a recommendation from Trip Advisor and we have been pleased each time. Enjoy!

The suite I got was HUGE - even had a conference table in it! Location is excellent, staff is nice, and the cookie service at night is lovely. Very quiet hotel, good room service. Careful if you have kids staying there, free porn appeared on my TV every night.
