“Nice amenities and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

I arrived late so I missed the cocktails but the cookies are great and the breakfast is very nice. Th rooms are older but well maintained. I had a courtyard room which had no noise from the street. The gym is small but ok if you are at an off hour. They were very accommodating with a late check out. Front desk, housekeeping and the restaurant staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Overall our stay at the Magnolia Hotel Denver was really good. The hotel is beautifully decorated and staff is extremely polite. We stayed on the 12th floor to try and avoid the street noise as much as possible. (The windows are single pane since it is an older building, so you can still hear a little street noise). The elevators were really efficient, we never waited more than a minute or so.

The perks were a very nice touch. Complimentary drinks in the evening, warm cookies and cold milk at night and a tasty full breakfast in the morning.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The soaking tub is a nice touch, but its not very long, if you're taller than 5' 6" you can't extend your legs out fully. The bathroom also comes equipped with a hair dryer and magnifying makeup mirror.

If you live in Colorado, you can also take the light rail to the hotel - there is a stop at 16th and Stout that we used. It's much cheaper than paying for parking.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1213 - nice high up corner room, minimal street noise and far from the elevator.

Awesome hotel at a great location. Walking distance to coors field and other attractions and restaurants. Complimentary beer and wine was a pleasant surprise during our stay. Would recommend staying here.

We stayed here and decided to go ahead and go for the king fireplace suite since it wasn't a huge amount more per night. It was well worth it. Husband was there for a conference and he had plenty of space to work with a conference table, we had a kitchen and a nice cozy fire when we wanted it. Not to mention the breakfast every morning that was included, free internet, and a complimentary car to take you anywhere downtown. You just don't get that anymore when you stay at hotels these days. This was my first experience at a Stash brand hotel and It will make me look into staying at them in other cities from now on as well. Friendly staff too!

So to get the bad stuff out of the way, this hotel is a little old and shows signs of wear around the elevators and carpet and such. However, not a big deal, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice. It's extremely comfortable and the location was great, you're 1 block from the 16th Street Mall and close to other downtown attractions.

Highlights of this hotel are all of the amenities! There is a Happy Hour from 530-730 daily with beer and wine, a Cookie Buffet from 8-10PM and an extensive breakfast buffet (read hot) each morning starting at 6 or 7AM depending on the day. It's worth booking just for that. Overall, this place was fun and I would stay again.

Room Tip: The only ice machine in the building is on the 1st floor so you may want to be close to that.

I stayed at Magnolia 5 nights during a conference (which was actually held at a different, but close hotel). I chose Magnolia because of it's good price point compared to other hotels in the downtown area & the amnenities they offered. My room was small, but well designed. I was able to get a refrigerator & small coffee maker. The breakfast was varied & good. The cocktail hour with free wine, beer & some specialty drinks was quite nice. And, of course, who can resist cookies & milk drinks at night!! The service was very good, giving us close options for affordable dining. The parking was not that easy. We chose to park our car ourselves rather than pay the valet fee. While the parking garage is attached to the hotel, you do have to walk outside to return to the hotel - which would have been OK if it had not been snowing & cold. All in all, it was a good experience & I would probably stay there again.

Room Tip: My room was on the inside overlooking the courtyard walls. Rooms on the outside are probably larger...

Just up for one day on business and from the outside nothing flash about this hotel. But when you drive up you're greeted by friendly staff eagerly waiting to assist. Check-in was quick and they gave me a free room upgrade to a fireplace suites room. With 3 elevators there was never a wait more than a minute. Once you enter the room you first notice the decor, design and layout. Being in Denver it was a bit chilly so the fireplace was nice addition. The bedroom was down the hall and not directly adjacent to the living space which I appreciated. I'm not one for wet bars and also appreciated a decent little fridge I could put 3 six packs and snacks with room to spare. Nice kitchen area as well with bar style counter. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and very clean (I always look for bed begs). Nice bedding and pillows as well. The bathroom with shower/tub was also very clean and looked new. "Super quiet" accommodations. I had the free continental breakfast - awesome food and was not disappointed. Being downtown you are in walking distance to everything. Only quibbles were internet access turned off next morning. And overnight parking was a bit high at $29 + tip. All in all I give this hotel 9 of 10 so certainly deserving of 5 stars.

Room Tip: always ask for free upgrade - the building isn't tall in comparison to others so no need to opt...
