I am a Denver resident, and wanted a special night out for Valentine's Day. This was a great value among others in the same price range, with more character than most. The Magnolia has retained much of its Swing-era charm, with a great club downstairs where guests can eat and mingle. Harry's, the lobby bar, is also a hidden gem with mod decor. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, downtown location prime and convenient, once you find your own parking. No complaints whatsoever.

This hotel is great!!!
Our room had just been remodeled (smelled a bit of fresh paint, but worth it). The bed was beautiful, the furnishings were perfect, and the bathroom was like a little oasis.
Everyone was incredibly friendly and the hotel had an overall classy feeling. The front deskers helped us find cheap parking, even though we could have spent three times as much to park right in the hotel (the cheap parking is on the weekends, in the adjacent building to The Magnolia).
It was an amazing deal and who wouldn't love milk and cookies, free wine and beer, and a breakfast fit for a king (or queen). The robes were a very nice touch too.
I can't wait to go back.

I used to stay here all the time due to it's location and friendly staff. However, I believe in 2005 or 2006, the management changed hands and I feel it has gone downhill ever since. I feel they've never treated me as a loyal customer, even though I've stayed there over 25 times. The rooms are nice size, though some rooms of the same description/price have more square footage than others and some have fireplaces. The security there has become out of hand as well. I've stayed in a room with one other person speaking softly at a reasonable hour and I've been harassed by security.

The hotel does have a great locale with an awesome lounge area that features a nice fountain/rock garden. They offer a decent happy hour with drinks and hor’dourves. They also offer a good buffet every morning.

We stayed at the Magnolia in Denver for 3 nights, the last one being new years eve. The hotel is in an old building that has been renovated. Based on their website and cost, we were expecting a luxury hotel, this hotel doesn't meet my definition of luxury. For starters, the room had one of those old fashioned tube type tvs, I haven't seen one of those in a hotel for a long time, the elevators are small and very slow. We ran out of hot water one morning and some of the tv channels like ESPN were not working. There were a number of smaller items, like the terrible quality of the continential breakfast, the wifi is free but we had to call the front desk once a day to get a new code to use it, lack of working TV checkout so there were long lines to check out at the front desk. I can't remember the last hotel I was at where I actually had to go to the front desk to check out! They seemed suprised when we asked them to store our luggage when we had to check out, but weren't leaving for a few more hours. I thought that was a common hotel service, it is everywhere else I have been. We were just disappointed and won't stay here again.

  • Liked — The location and the workout room
  • Disliked — The lack of sophistication.

We arrived yesterday after 24 hours of travelling to a warm welcome and fast check in. There is parking next door ($23 for 24 hours), which also speeded up the arrival process.

The room is comfortable (we are in a duluxe double) with a fantastic shower, a good range of toileteries, tea and filter coffee making facilities and free wireless internet. The continental breakfast is free but we haven't got there yet as even arriving at 0100 hours there were free cookies at reception so we are enjoying those with some coffee first.
