I have stayed at this hotel a couple times because it is close to the denver airport. Both stays had the same dissapointing results. The staff is great but it all ends with them. The hallway carpets are dirty, the rooms have 2 inch wide dust ring on the carpet near the walls. The beds are below average as is the bathroom towels. The breakfast at the restuarant was good but came with very slow service. It is a shame because this hotel has a lot of potential. For our next trip, we are planning on staying somewhere else.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn 3 nights as part of a convention. The Hotel offers the basic without friendly service. The Hotel is old and could need some updating, but the rooms are ok. I asked for directions at the front desk and had the impression I was just interrupting personal phone calls.
The Holiday Inn is surrouned by newer and nicer hotels in the same price category-so why stay here if you can do much better next door?

My company booked a week-long seminar at this hotel, along with perhaps 125 room nights and 300 meals for attendees. For all the money we spent, we were treated as if we were unimportant.

First, the seminar room provided was a small part of a huge convention floor. For 45 people, this was absurd. The acoustics were awful, the room was cold and noisy with industrial-strength heaters running continuously. The catering manager assured us there was no other room, even though we saw one or two perfectly acceptable meeting rooms that were never in use. We felt as if we were running classes in an airplane hangar.

For our awards dinner, we were relegated to the "atrium", which is an elegant-sounding name for a completely unacceptable location. The atrium was surrounded by a bar on one side, check-in on another, and the open restaurant on a third. Our five speakers competed with cheering from the bar, and lots of activity at check in and the restaurant. Again, we were told there was just no other place to hold this event; however, there were three private meeting spaces that were free the entire time and would have been ideal for the event.

My conclusion was that the catering manager just didn't want to have to set up any of these rooms a second time and preferred to lie to us about room availability.

After reading other posts about uncooperative employees, I can confirm that this lack of cooperation is systemic throughout the hotel.

I have stayed at this Holiday Inn several times between 2001 and 2005 while traveling from Oregon to Kansas. It has strong points but also weak points.

The rooms are very clean and neat. The location is easy to access off I-70. They were in the process of some renovations at one point, but the last time I stayed there in 2005 it still seemed like something still needed to be improved, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

It has a nice (although small) pool, along with a hot tub and a sauna. This is great after traveling for a long distance.

I do not care for the restaurant; it is pricey and nothing outstanding. I find that even the vending machines were a little more costly than other hotels, and that's saying something.

Considering that this hotel is no doubt popular with business travels given its proximity to the airport and I-70, I am amazed that in four years, they have only one computer for public access, and it has very slow Internet to boot. They also do not enforce a time limit on usage, so it's not uncommon for one person to hog the computer. This is very annoying.

Fortunately, you have several choices for fast food or casual dining in walking distance or just down the street (including Outback).

It is worth noting that this is a franchised Holiday Inn and not a corporate-owned hotel. I have stayed at much nicer Holiday Inns in Cincinnati and Boise, and this one is not up to those standards, but I would consider staying at this one again because it does have good rooms in a secure neighborhood, and it's close to both the Interstate and DIA.
