I was really impressed with The Curtis. My flight into Denver had me arriving several hours before the standard check-in time. I had emailed The Curtis about requesting an early check in time and while they responded quickly, they couldn't guarantee and early check-in. However, when I arrived, they checked me right in and I was able to get straight up to my room.
I had a corner room so I had a view of Curtis Street and the 16th Street Mall off in the distance a little bit. The room was very large and very clean. I loved the large TV and the large bathroom. The stand-up shower in the bathroom definetely saved some space and there was a lot of counter space for all of my various beauty products.
I did not have a problem with wireless like a lot of the reviews on this site say. I got right on without a problem.
The bed was very comfy and housekeeping kept everything very clean during my 3 night stay. \
It was a really short walk to the 16th Street Mall and even though I was traveling by myself..... I felt very comfortable walking alone.

If I ever get back to Denver, I will probably consider staying at the Curtis again.

What a disappointment. The hotel does have a sense of humor as mentioned in another review but for the price I prefer more than humor. On arrival, we were placed in a small handicap room - not sure how a person in W/C would get around in that room. The manager did move us to a much nicer, corner room which we greatly appreciated. But, even this hotel just doesn't offer much for your money. We arrived at the Curtis after staying 3 nights in Vail at the Sonnenalp for $40 less a night plus a full breakfast. If you have ever stayed there you know it's one of the best breakfast had anywhere. There is coffee & fresh fruit always available in the lobby and pool area as well as cucumber water & tea. For turn down service, cookies & bottle of free water are left in room. On this trip we also stayed at the SKY which again was cheaper than the Curtis and offers much more such as complimentary wine each evening.
At the Curtis, not only do you not get breakfast, but there is no complimentary coffee in the lobby (I was told I could make in my room which is true but I prefer real cream & not the hassle of brewing in the room), no wine glasses or opener in room, no bath robes, no pool, no free bottled water, and room service trays which sat for days in the hall. Spend your money elsewhere!

We were very surprised especially because of how great the hotel and rooms were for the money. Very clean, rooms and everywhere we ventured in the hotel, and friendly staff. The bellman was very helpful and went over everything in the room when we arrived, which we appreciated. We did use room service one morning and it arrived on the time exactly when we specified. The food was delicious and hot and was more than enough for the price. Room service personnel were also friendly. One night we came in very late and the TV was not working. Was showing a "lost signal". We called the front desk and in less than 5 minutes a maintanence man had arrived and fixed the simple problem. He was also very personable and kept apologizing for the inconvenience. It was no big deal to us since it was fixed in a very timely fashion. Will admit that we were concerned when we were placed on the 4th floor facing the main street because we were worried about noise. We never had any problems at all. It was very quiet. Beds extremely comfortable and loved the bathroom and how clean it was kept. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Denver.

Thank you,
The Wood Family

Reviews were true to form. I wanted a short shopping getaway and this was really the spot to stay. It was fun being on the "hair" floor and with the slightly larger corner room, I watched a fabulous Fourth of July fireworks show right outside my window. So much to do that I didn't have time to enjoy the Bar or try room service, but would completely return. Only bads are high expense for parking (but makes sense if you are downtown) and on my holiday weekend there were a few loud guests for a couple of minutes one night but that was it, and the corner rooms keep you pretty insulated from that if it happens at all. Highly recommend this hotel, what a bargain and what fun.

  • Liked — Close to downtown shopping area, comfortable
  • Disliked — Parking cost, but really not that bad

From check in to check out we were treated to great service from the Curtis hotel's friendly staff.

The rooms are spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, and filled with modern comforts (flat panel TVs, clock radios that you can plug any MP3 player into, free wi-fi). The ensuite bathroom feature deep sinks with plenty of counter room for two people to share and large shower stalls (no bathtub). Housekeeping refreshed the towels daily and clean sheets upon request. The lobby is filled with inviting couches and chairs. There are board games and books available as well as a HUGE flat panel television showing cartoons in the lobby. Each floor of the hotel features a different Pop Culture theme including; One Hit Wonder, LOL, Speed Racer, Horror, and Famous Couples to name just a few.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar attached called "The Corner Office" happy hours are genrous and the staff attentive. We'd suggest skipping diner in the corner office as the food was bland and not worth the price paid. The hotel offers valet and self parking ($24 a day for valet, $18 for self park). They also have a courtesy shuttle that's available to take guests on short trips around the city, it's a complimentary service (tips are encouraged). The hotel is located across the street from the performing arts center, 3-4 blocks from the 16th Street Mall, and 2 blocks from the convention center. We also found the hotel to be within easy walking distance of the LODO neighborhood (lots of restuarants and shops in LODO).
