“Interesting and fun, but better options are out there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

I had a 1 night stay-over in Denver so figured I would try the Curtis hotel. I had read mixed reviews so wanted to give it a try for myself. Here's the breakdown:

Pros:

- Interesting, modern decor (each floor has a different theme)
- Location
- Service - best I've had in Denver!
- Breakfast buffet - also hard to beat for hotels at this level...service at breakfast was also stellar
- Gym - quite large and plenty of options for working out
- Parking - a bit pricy, but they do have parking, which is hard to come by downtown
- Bar scene - VERY vibrant, modern and with lots of options
- Accepts gov't rate

Cons:
- Rooms were small...especially the bathrooms
- A bit noisy...mainly from the hallways

Although I laid out many more pros then cons, these cons are significant. Being I was just overnighting in Denver, it wasn't that bad. But had I stayed here for a longer business or pleasure trip, these cons would have grown more troublesome. All in all, not a bad place and well worth staying for fun, but I would go elsewhere for longer stays (i.e. Embassy Suites Downtown or the Four Seasons)

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better

Hello, Sted!
Thank you for posting your review of the Curtis. To read that we delivered the best service that you've had in Denver is truly thrilling! Our goal is to make every guest feel welcome, comfortable and special. We're also glad that you were able to take advantage of the bar in The Corner Office - one of the best scenes in Denver, by far.
Thank you for noting your concerns about your guest room size. If you make it back to the Mile High City and choose to join us again, we recommend going for one of our Bigger, Better Deal rooms which are located on the corners of the hotel. These rooms will give you much more space as well as killer views.

“Highs and lows, Outstanding location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

First off the hotel theme floors is cool about the first couple days. 9 days later its like I got it just open the door, and the theme is very lightly done throughout the entire hotel.
Parking is not available they only offer $28 a night valet, which all stand there wait for tips, seriously? Average wait time for the car was over 30 minutes They were repairing there garage so you got the additional bill at there advantage. No discount for Diamond level membership
We had a corner suite, was large and quite. Shower area was small and the pipes banged if your turned the temp uo to much.
Room service was good, hotel was quite, location was great you couldnt ask for anything better. Everything is within walking distance. Only reason they didnt get average was cause of there location and front desk staff. Very clean and beds are always comfy.
Would stay again but park the car down the street for less than half the amount and hassle.

Hello wick1979;
We greatly appreciate the feedback on your stay at the Curtis. It looks as though you travel quite a bit so we are delighted that you selected to stay with us while in Denver.
Our parking arrangements have changed over the past several weeks, while we reinforce our garage structure. In order to keep our guests safe, valet is the only on-site parking option at this time. The upgrades will be completed in the spring and we too are looking forward to reopening the hotels self-parking.
We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the service that you received at the Curtis and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon!

“Decent Hotel In the Heart of Downtown Denver..But parking is a Downfall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We enjoyed our Stay, The Rooms were clean though there was a distinct smell that we figured was caused by the heater, Not a Big deal or anything too much. We love staying at the Hilton as we are Gold Members and enjoy perks such as Free Wifi, Daily bottled water & Breakfast which saves us a lot of money. We were very disappointed with the parking situation as it was an unexpected expense of $28 per night with $3 tip every day. The Hot complementary cookies were Delish and we kept coming back for more! Overall it was a good stay for the price, expect the Parking! Not too crazy about the theme of the Hotel, I can appreciate the modern look a lot but the retro music theme No..

“Good hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We thought this was a good hotel in a great location! Definitely a funky atmosphere. The rooms were great for the price and our tv was huge! We were on the 10th floor in an upgraded room. Rooms were clean, upgraded amenities...and yummy chocolate chip cookies. The staff was very pleasant. We did valet park (only option) and the extra fee was $28/night. The only complaint is that it was so loud outside and was hard to sleep because of all the sirens, yelling, etc. We would definitely recommend some upgraded thicker windows so guests have a better sleep experience.

“Even if your tempted to stay here, don't!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

When my husband and I arrived we were excited about the great location, next to the theater but we soon realized that location didn't compensate for all the negatives.
We would have opted to self park since that was $6.00 dollars cheaper but we were told that the garage is under repairs for the last six months so we had to choose valet parking which was higher. After returning to our room all the noise began, and it lasted all night long. Between the fire trucks, doors slamming, girls laughing at 2 a.m. and talking in their room we did not get a moments sleep. The walls are paper thin so you could hear people on the entire floor the minute they stepped off the elevator. We also had the continuous droning of an elevator sound in our bathroom. The bed was so hard we both woke up complaining about our sore backs and aching bodies.
We also signed up for the Van Gough package which no one explained to us the benefits for the package which we would have scheduled our time much differently had we know there was a taxi service available with the package. Very disappointed with our stay!

Dear ColoradoMic;
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to post a review of the Curtis and we are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. The hotel garage is currently undergoing some renovations and is completely closed to ensure our guests safety. While we hope that valet is a sufficient option, we understand that it's something that not everyone is comfortable with. With that in mind, we do have a list of local garages available where you can self park just a short walk from the hotel.
Thank you for your feedback on the "Gogh with the Flow" package. We'll certainly communicate with our associates to better reiterate the details of the package and we will confirm the on-line listing details that are currently posted.

All the best and Happy Holidays!
