“Trying to be groovey and hitting the mark for the most part.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

I was attending a long conference at the Convention Center and stayed six nights at the Curtis. Architecturally boring building sauced up by some whimsical touches inside and a front desk and bell staff that bends over backward for guests. Whimsy continues onto guest floors and luckily stays in the halls. The king corner room I had on the dancing floor (each floor themed) was large and light, good bed, bath on the small side, no closet - just a small armoire. Three star view. The housekeeper could have used a swifter - I ended up dusting on day three. HVAC was great. Water was perfect temps always. Amazing location for visitors to downtown Denver. Honestly, I was excited to stay at a Hipster hotel and was a tad disappointed by the hype vs. reality. Not at all the higher end feel of other Doubletree boutiques, like in Chicago. Restaurant was great and room service prompt, friendly, and yummy. Pass on the crab cake Benedict. Not good.

“Fun and funky in Denver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed here for a girls weekend in October. Fun and funky hotel, with a manager named "Huggie Bear", how can you go wrong? Great restaurant attached, the Corner office. The floors are themed, but the rooms are modern (no theming). The Doubletree cookies are delicious! You can check out board games, but there is so much to do in Denver, we didn't have time for that.

The only thing that was a downside was there are no coffee makers or refrigerators in the rooms. They have free coffee downstairs in the lobby, but I need something to wake up! Plus, the coffee was out by 9 am on Sunday, so that was a real bummer!

Room Tip: All the floors are themed, but rooms are about the same.

“A different kind of hotel experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Curtis is a different kind of hotel experience. It has absolutely everything you want and need ....but is also a fun place. Iis very conveniently located to the convention center and to the 16th street mall and many restaurants. The staff is very friendly and they do a lot of things to make the stay fun. One day ...I entered the hotel and the "paper, scissors, rock" game was plaing on a screen in the lobby. Really ! fun place.

Room Tip: Wow.....it looks like one room on every floor is right in front of the elevators. Likely not the be...

“Outdated Atmosphere, Great Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The service was outstanding, the lobby is fun, but everything else was just mediocre. Every floor is "themed" but it is done so lightly it seems like a cheesy gimmick rather than anything of interest. The lobby is cozy and would be fun for a quiet getaway with friends but misses the mark big time for a business feel. The rooms are adequate but nothing that nice. I could hear my neighbor talking on the phone so there isn't a lot to dampen the sounds of others. The entire thing feels very cramped. Small lobby, small elevators, small hallways, tiny bathroom. If you're very overweight you would probably be very uncomfortable here. Be sure to set the temp before you go to sleep in case it's turned off like mine was.

Room Tip: The elevator has cheesy announcements for every level so stay on a lower floor if you don't want...

Hello, Marcy W:
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review of the Curtis. I am very sorry to hear that your stay was not up to par. We definitely pride ourselves on bringing a lighthearted approach to travel so, while we offer all of the conveniences that a business traveler of today would come to expect, we like to have fun with it and ensure guests a true experience, not just a hotel stay.
It's fair to say that this approach might not fit all guests. However, it means the world to hear that you enjoyed the service that you received. Most of all, it's our associates who make the Curtis what it is, and it's wonderful to hear that our service wowed you.

Stay Happy!

“VERY NICE HOTEL , STAFF NICE AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. WOULD GO BACK BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT STAY !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

The hotel is great and alot of fun. The staff was very nice and you are very close to everything. We went to watch a Denver Bronco game and it was so close to the stadium and the spirit was great. I would go back again and stay and ask for a corner room above the 5th floor so you can see the mountains.
