My girlfriend booked this for me as a present for the Great American Beer Fest, and I was really suprised, it was a block from the Convetion center, and has a lot going on around it. We highly recomend the restaurant attached to it, great food, and really reasonable prices. If you are looking for a great place to stay in downtown Denver, this would be the place.

I only stayed one night at this hotel and I wish I could have stayed longer. The hotel is well located; the arts centre is just up the street and most of downtown Denver is within walking distance. The rooms look really good, the air-conditioning worked well, there were good views from the window and the hotel had a very positive atmosphere. Denver is well worth a visit, especially if you stay at this hotel.

Really enjoyed the ambiance-each floor had different theme - we were on the "dance" floor, comfortable bed, 3 pillows/bed, turndown service w/"retro" candy, walk-in shower for 2, friendly staff, convenient location, walking distance to shopping, Pepsi Center, light-rail commute train, will definitely recommend.

I needed a downtown Denver hotel option for a recent business trip involving a performance of The Little Mermaid and The Curtis happened to be located right across the street! Upon finding their "Check it out" rate ($159) compared favorably with other options, I booked the room. I am glad I did. My room was bright, clean and I really liked the orange-scented bath products but I am forgetting the brand name. A 42" LCD television provided good viewing and the A/C unit in the room kept the proper temp. Ear plugs are a must, though, as the unit is LOUD.
This hotel is a lot like other renovations of tired, old hotel buildings (The James in Chicago comes to mind) and it's funky and fun. The level of service is solid albeit on a very casual level - you will never mistake The Curtis for The Peninsula!
Upon check-in, I was upgraded to a corner room on the top floor (1607) by Annie - a top-notch front-desk staffer. Several times during my stay, Annie helped me with local information and to move me up on the housekeeping list.
I chose to dine in The Corner Office (the hotel restaurant) because I was beat from traveling, Glad I did - the menu is eclectic and tasty (some of the appetizers are meal-sized and are priced at $2.50 during Happy Hour) and the bar poured a great Manhattan (I like them dry). I thought it cool that the bus staff wears biking jerseys and they keep the spray bottle of cleaner and towels in the dorsal water bottle pockets. The wait staff in The Corner Office was always friendly and obliging.
I hosted a business dinner in The Corner Office as well as a post-performance cocktail/hors d'oeuvres reception and can not fault either the service or the food and drinks on either one. Julia (a manager) assisted with all the small details (including holding upon delivery a bouquet of flowers for the "star" of the show who was attending the reception) and scrambled to accommodate our group of 23 persons for the reception when they had mistakenly written down 10.
The location is really good - two blocks north to the 16th Street Mall and you can pick up a bus that will take you anywhere on its length for free. And you can access the light rail system at the end of the Mall Shuttle run and go all over Denver from there.
All in all, I would rate The Curtis above average and would stay there again, espcially if I was able to get the $159 rate.

Nice, spacious room with modern decor. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Interesting staff -- unique from any other hotel I've visited (young, punky, casual). Great value at $100/night. Very centrally located in downtown Denver -- I walked to bars at night and to meetings during the day.

Average bathroom. No view to speak of.

  • Liked — Beautiful, quiet room
  • Disliked — Staff was helpful but could have been a little more polite/formal
