We got a great rate, and were told all of the renovations (pool, club floor, lobby) would be done by our visit. One out of 2 happened!
Good: At the end of ped. mall, with a free bus and many restaurants, and near the capitol. Room had an incredible view of the mountains and comfy beds.
Bad: Many of front desk staff were hum-ho, ask for a manager for all issues as others seem not to care.
Pool and club floor not completed. Promised bkfst and evening appetizers on floor, instead given coupons to go to lobby restaurant (had really wanted the club floor reception space as many in our party).
Bathroom small!
Rooms look renovated but common sense items not there - no refridge, no listing of hotel ammenities or hotel info, not a stick of stationery or notepad to jot on.
Gift shop items on floor for renovations, out of newspapers at 9:30am on a Sunday.
Took 20 hours and 3 phone calls to get AC working (squealed like a car alarm on arrival) - Guest Relations did keep checking on it and were apologetic.
The concierge works like 3 hours a day, no brochures by desk. The front staff could answer no ?s on Denver - both times another guest in line was super helpful.
They send you on this confusing walk thru empty, eerie feeling convention floor to get to the second building (reeked of cigars) - use the walkway on the 2nd floor.
We did get a reasonable refund on our already great priced room, with very little complaining - get the feeling they are used to people complaining as you would expect more of this chain.
Would stay here again, if negotiated super rate but would assume it to be average at best.
