I stayed and attended a conference at this centrally located hotel. There were announcements around the hotel saying that it is going to be renovated and certainly my room, although spacious and adequate for my four day stay, will benefit from this. The entrance, lobby and conference facilities are grand enough and all the staff here very helpful, the grandeur does fade as you go to the rooms. The room cleaning people didn't do a very good job even though I didn't give them much to do. My air conditioning was OK which was just as well because none of the methods of adjusting it had any effect. I was next to the ice machine which was rather noisy when used, as were all the room doors (why can't people consider others when closing their door)?. I did eat in the restaurant twice and although the food was OK, except for the steak, it was slow in arriving (even though there weren't many people in). This hotel is on 16th Street which apart from a free bus running regularly over its length, is pedestrianised. There are many places to eat along here and the ones I tried were good. The conference facilities were good, as was the food etc. that was provided for the attendees. All the other conference rooms (that were always busy) looked impressive as did their food. Good attention to detail here. I would attend a conference and stay here again, especially as my company was paying. The room rate I got was apparently good.
