My husband and I chose the Timbers primarily because of the rave reviews on this site. We booked a one-bedroom suite to share with our 17-year-old son quite a while ago, and arrived on Monday, June 26th at 5PM, excited about our stay.

Unfortunately, we were immediately met with problems. When we tried to check in, we were told by the front desk staff that no one-bedroom suites were available since "some people who were supposed to check out today never did". When I asked what was available for us, it took the desk clerk, who was obviously inexperienced, about 10-15 minutes to find us any room at all. I had a further conversation with a supervisor, who again blamed the problem on people who didn't check out. Neither she nor the desk clerk were apologetic.

We were finally given a regular king room (not a suite). I asked for a reduced rate (it was not offered to me, as it should have been), and I was given the room for $99. Fortunately for my husband and I, our son had decided to check into his dorm room early, or there would have been no place for him to sleep.

The room itself was very nice and the bed very comfortable. However, it was not a suite, even though the hotel claims that it's an "all suite hotel". Breakfast was indeed very good, consisting of eggs, potatoes, muffins, etc., and delicious juice and coffee.

Check out went smoothly, but it is clear that the Timbers desk staff needs a lot of training. They are not friendly, and seem more interested in greeting fellow employees than their guests.

To sum it all up, if you need a guaranteed reservation, our experience shows that you'll be taking your chances at the Timbers.

I love visiting Denver and I've stayed at expensive places as well as budget hotels and I have always had a great experience. On Wednesday June 28th 2006, My wife and I drove my mother to Denver to spend a couple of days as a present for Mother's Day. I looked at the reviews on tripadvisor and we booked a 2-bedroom suite for $159.00 a night. Not a problem. When we arrived we were informed that this was a 1-bedroom suite with 2 queen sized beds. The person at the desk discounted the room to $129.00 a night. I could of got a rate of $99.00 a night on Orbitz had I wanted this room. Not a problem. Right across the street from the Timbers you could catch a bus that will take you to the Casino, we had a nice drive about an hour an ten minutes. The bus drove through the mountains it was real nice. We got back at 1:30 a.m. and at 2:00 a.m. the fire alarm blared throughout the entire complex it was constant and didnot go off until 5:00 a.m. The next day they told us sorry for the inconvenience. This is a problem. Any reputeable hotel would have comped that night for their guests or checked them into another hotel. Who could remember the rest of the hotel when you had a night like that. Never Again ... For the price tooo many other nice places that I respect more in Denver.

this hotel is not worth anything! i would not rate this hotel a 4 star. Maybe a 2 1/2. the Peoria Restuarant was extremely slow. we were the only ones in there and since we didnt sit at the bar, we had to do everything ourselves. i had to go to the bar, order a drink and food. when we were done, i asked for the bill, did i get it? no, i had to go to the bar and ask for it. the second night we were there, the fire alarm went off 5 times. apparently, one of the motors in the elevator was overheating. instead of closing down the elevators, the fire alarms kept on going off all night. starting at 2am and ending around 5am. we did not get any sleep whatsoever. after all of that, we decided to leave a day early because of all of this mess. we didnt even get a discount for that night full of fire alarms. i was very upset. the staff was not helpfull at all. they didnt have any quarters in the front or at the bar. i had to go into the restuarant and wait for 5 minutes for someone to help me to be able to get quarters to wash some clothes. i even asked a manager to do something for me and they didnt even do it. there was some issues with the charge on my account. i had to have the manager send my bank some info and it wasnt even done. i spent half of my day trying to deal with this and i didnt get any help. the price is not worth it at all. they need to lower their prices down to $60.00 a night. i do not recommend this hotel for anyone to stay in. this hotel SUCKS!!!!!!! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL!!

We stayed Sunday and Monday night in June 2006 and paid $119 per night plus 15% tax. We thought the latter expensive. However, we were delighted with the suite which was well equipped, spacious, uncluttered, very clean with lovely comfortable beds which had duvets. TV in the sitting room and also in the bedroom. We ate at the in-house restaurant and the food was excellent. We had the flat iron steak and the salmon, both lovely. However, the portions are not enormous so be prepared if you are ravenous! Better than average breakfast. We were not charged for parking. Would definitely stay here again.

We traveled to Denver over Memorial Day weekend and stayed at The Timbers Hotel near the Denver Airport. It used to be an old Best Western and is now privately flagged so it is not plush nor does it have any type of water amenities(no pool, sauna or hot tubs) and our room only came with a shower, no bath tub.
On the other hand, the suites were huge, a large livingroom, kitchen, master bedroom and the it was very comfortably furnished. It was also quite affordable and made a nice launch point to go to the Zoo(+++), the Botanical Gardens(+++), and Denver's enjoyable downtown. The wireless reception is poor and the business center is okay but overused.
We printed out the Best of Denver for Everything and had great food and site seeing all weekend. The Timbers also made it quick and easy to get to the airport. A few blocks away the neighborhood gets a little dicey so I would not do too many late evening walks.
The restaraunt in the hotel however had incredible food, as good or better than most of what we had at the "best" restaraunts in town. For extended business sans computer, this place is great, wireless in the lobby was very good, so it gets an above average overall rating. Add a pool and good wireless and this place could be incredible.
