The Gregory is really very nice, but be aware its in a "transitional" area.

My husband & I stayed two nights at the Gregory Inn on a recent last minute trip to Denver. I booked directly with the Inn after seeing multiple good reviews on TripAdvisor. We were very pleased with our stay overall, but when we arrived we were sort of uneasy about the location of the inn. It is in a very urban / transitional area next to a couple of schools and a Greyhound Bus maintenance lot. We also saw homeless shelters/centers a few blocks away. The property itself is fenced and has very pretty gardens. They have a fenced parking lot for guests, but the drive in entrance is always open. Our room (Michael's Room) was quite large with a good size bathroom with a Jetted tub & an opening through which you can see the fireplace if you wish. It was decorated nicely with a comfortable bed and sitting area. Breakfast was very good both mornings and all the staff we encountered were very pleasant. Based on our overall experience, I would recommend the Gregory Inn but just wanted to provide the information about the transitional nature of the location so that other travelers would be fully informed.

  • Liked — Our room was large, pretty and very comfortable.
  • Disliked — The location is "transitional".

My wife found the Gregory Inn when we were dating and for both our 1st Anniversary we stayed the weekend in Owens room.

I'm scoring a 5 overall and I do have to pick a bit to find things wrong but before I do that I need to say that people who have trouble with the remote controls probably shouldn't be driving cars to the Inn or going out unassisted. And anyone who scored a 1 or a 2 for this place needs to stop smoking whatever it is they're smoking (or share).

As B&B's go this place is top notch, if you want a bar for a night cap - it's a B&B, if you want a swimming pool - it's a B&B.

We've only stayed in the same room each time so I can only comment on the big comfortable bed, the capacious bath tub and recently updated projection TV. The room is on the main level but the sound from above is minimal. I like the sitting area that offers a place to relax without feeling like you're just in your bedroom. The fireplace is a really nice touch too.

Tiny niggles (because it's still a 5)

The location as some have mentioned isn't perfect but once you're inside just about everything else is (so get a cab)

The remote to be honest is TOO simple, I want to play and change things (I just answered my own issue - that's why it's simple).

The DVD player isn't in my room - but the owner shared the location with me so I could change to a different disc later in the evening, but I had to go upstairs! (am I sounding like one of those whiners yet?)

I love Eggs Benedict for breakfast when I'm away so I would like that sort of breakfast as an option (I think the last time we were there it was pancakes - which were great and a nice change actually).

But that's all I can dig up and I am really stretching

Let me say one last thing - the owner and Innkeeper are both really great, they both make the effort to greet you upon arrival, they take the time to talk to you and it's never a chore to do so. On our very first visit the projector (an older model) overheated and the owner was in the room in minutes and had everything fixed - try that in your downtown chain. I had flowers delivered in the past and one one occasion the flowers were direct from the grower, with the vase delivered separately, they were arranged in the vase on the coffee table when we walked into our room.

In a world where customer service is becoming 'self service' (or constant tipping to get someone to do their job) we think that the Gregory strives to change that and provide a great experience for your spend.

that's why we'll be back again and again.

We did a lot of online research before we booked in Denver. We were persuaded by the great reviews the Gregory Inn received on TripAdvisor and the fact that bathrooms were updated and modern. We stayed in Leilani's Room and it lived up to expectations with a very comfortable king bed, large screen projection TV, small sitting area and an in room fridge stocked with bottled water and separate freezer. I like a clean, modern bathroom and this one did not disappoint. Breakfast was very good and Todd, the chef was very accommodating. The Gregory Inn itself is terrific and we would not hesitate in recommending it.

Our only complaint is the location. While it is only a few blocks from Coors Field and an easy enough walk, the surrounding neighborhood is less than appealing. A couple of homeless shelters are a block away and we were approached a few times for money as we walked back in the dark. We found another way to go to avoid that corner but it was even darker and off the beaten path. I suggest having a car there or calling a cab so you don't have to walk through the bad areas at night.

This is a very Clean and Romantic place. The staff was wonderful to me and my new wife. We stayed in Michaels Room. The Projection TV was nice (it’s a guy thing), the bath tub was great with room for 2 and jets! The bed was VERY nice and lots of room and great linens. The breakfast was really good too.

If you like B&Bs this is a Wonderful place, looks old and classic but with new features ( I don’t think the building is all but 10 to 15 years old)

Thank you Gregory Inn for a very nice and memorable night!

My husband and I enjoyed the romance package at the Gregory Inn for our 34th anniversary. The Inn is conveniently located and just beautiful inside and out. The host arranged for a car to take us to dine at a local seafood restaurant and the dinner was superb. The driver was full of local history and went out of his way to show us the city. The service at the restaurant was as perfect as the food. We stayed in the Michael Suite. It had a jacuzzi tub that overlooked the fireplace. Breakfast was served on the second floor just outside our room. We enjoyed a large, healthy meal. For midnight snacks the Inn had laid out homemade cookies, oranges and several types of beverages. Always nice to have access to snacks! Hope that we can go back to the Gregory Inn before our next anniversary!
