My wife found the Gregory Inn when we were dating and for both our 1st Anniversary we stayed the weekend in Owens room.
I'm scoring a 5 overall and I do have to pick a bit to find things wrong but before I do that I need to say that people who have trouble with the remote controls probably shouldn't be driving cars to the Inn or going out unassisted. And anyone who scored a 1 or a 2 for this place needs to stop smoking whatever it is they're smoking (or share).
As B&B's go this place is top notch, if you want a bar for a night cap - it's a B&B, if you want a swimming pool - it's a B&B.
We've only stayed in the same room each time so I can only comment on the big comfortable bed, the capacious bath tub and recently updated projection TV. The room is on the main level but the sound from above is minimal. I like the sitting area that offers a place to relax without feeling like you're just in your bedroom. The fireplace is a really nice touch too.
Tiny niggles (because it's still a 5)
The location as some have mentioned isn't perfect but once you're inside just about everything else is (so get a cab)
The remote to be honest is TOO simple, I want to play and change things (I just answered my own issue - that's why it's simple).
The DVD player isn't in my room - but the owner shared the location with me so I could change to a different disc later in the evening, but I had to go upstairs! (am I sounding like one of those whiners yet?)
I love Eggs Benedict for breakfast when I'm away so I would like that sort of breakfast as an option (I think the last time we were there it was pancakes - which were great and a nice change actually).
But that's all I can dig up and I am really stretching
Let me say one last thing - the owner and Innkeeper are both really great, they both make the effort to greet you upon arrival, they take the time to talk to you and it's never a chore to do so. On our very first visit the projector (an older model) overheated and the owner was in the room in minutes and had everything fixed - try that in your downtown chain. I had flowers delivered in the past and one one occasion the flowers were direct from the grower, with the vase delivered separately, they were arranged in the vase on the coffee table when we walked into our room.
In a world where customer service is becoming 'self service' (or constant tipping to get someone to do their job) we think that the Gregory strives to change that and provide a great experience for your spend.
that's why we'll be back again and again.
